What It's Like To Be A Watch Blogger After 2,500 Posts
A few days ago, watches-dealer (formerly aBlogtoRead) hit the 2,500 posts milestone. It was only about a year ago that we celebrated our 2,000 posts milestone - with that really cool graphic I so enjoyed. In the last year a lot has happened over here at watches-dealer - it still feels funny using the new name as it is less than a month old at the time of writing this. During that time I have been interviewed in a lot of places, referenced in some major magazines and publications, and more or less sort of went mainstream. One reason aBlogtoRead as a name was retired was because the site for years now really hasn't been the niche watch lover blog for horologists only, but something a bit larger.Typically, this would be the time when someone in my position would thank everyone involved, say it has been amazing, and promise you all sorts of cool stuff for the future. The more I read that stuff the less it sounds sincere. Of course, everyone involved in the site such as our developer, Krist
What are you drinking with your AP on?
I don't think there's one on this sub-forum. Thought I'd borrow the idea from the Rolex forum...
Black Dial Differences between 15400vs15300
i've seen white dial differences between 15400 and 15300 which 400 is more silvery rather thaan 300 which is more flat white. What about the black dial? is it different also betwen 300 and 400?and also about the 15300 clasp is it only come with the AP logo model or also come with the new model like 15400 clasp? which is better?thankyou!
No AD
I like Omega watches and own a gold Deville on a leather strap for over 50 years. Recently I got the urge to buy another watch. I found out that my local jeweler had lost Omega several years ago. Omega had pulled out of all stores and open an Omega Boutique. I guess that it was a bad move because they have closed the boutique and now have no distribution in Western Washington state. Not being able to see and try on the watches I bought a Rolex instead. So what is going on with Omega? My Rolex AD who also use to be an Omega AD says they turned off many dealers with the way they pulled their line. They have no interest in selling Omega if they were asked to again.
What can you tell me about my Seamaster?
I inherited it from my father 5 years ago. It was his daily beater. He probably bought it in the late 50s and, knowing him, it was pre-owned. The crystal is cracked. The stem winder is pulled out and lost. Is it worth repairing, from a strictly financial point of view? It is solid gold and has the original strap. If I shake it it will run for a bit, so it's not in a hopeless condition.
