New Season Of Man vs. Wild Has Bear Grylls Wearing A Casio Dynamic Wave Ceptor Watch
It all started with a Breitling Emergency watch, which turned into a Bremont Chronograph for a while, and now seems to be a favored Casio Dynamic Wave Ceptor. Bear Grylls flirts with a lot of timepieces. With the absence of new episodes (or any more ever) of Survivorman, I have been forced to turn to the less real reality based wilderness survival show, Man vs. Wild. Survivorman's Les Stroud presented a more real show given that he was the star and cameraman. After a few short seasons Survivorman is no longer, but apparent promises from Les point to a survival related new venture. The competitor of Survivorman, also on the Discovery channel is Man vs. Wild, a show that many of you are familiar with. Bear Grylls, the star of the show is an ex British Special Forces veteran who apparently knows the tricks to survival all over the world. Man vs. Wild. I am sure he is well briefed before entering new areas. Now a few seasons matured, Man vs. Wild has started to develop its character. While
The pilot has landed!
So I picked up the pilot 5524g yesterday after a wait of about 6 months. I wasn't expecting it until the end of this year, so was a nice surprise to get the call early. I think there have been quite a few deliveries in Q1, and I'm guessing this is due to production now switching to the 5524r for at least the next few months. As we all know the 5524 was a controversial piece when it launched in 2015. I certainly didn't like it from the first photos released by Patek. Seeing live photos and trying it on totally changed my opinion and I knew this was a watch that would end up in my collection. Having now had the watch for a day I thought I'd share my early thoughts:- I love the case dimensions. Something I really like is a flat case back, with a thicker middle case and the 5524 suits my taste perfectly here. - It's quite a thick watch, but because of the above it feels perfectly balanced and in proportion. Coupled with the weight of white gold it feels very nice. - It's got a vibe differe
Patek phillip aquanaut, whats the big deal?
Patek lovers, I have always wondered what the big deal is with this model, they are always priced high, and for a major luxury watch not that fancy looking either, so what is the big hype?
Patek discount too good to be true?!
Hi all, long time lurker and finally decided to join because something happened to me recently.I have been collecting watches for sometime now and recently started to purchase Pateks. I recently visited an AD in the US with whom I have no prior relationship, and inquired about a highly sought-after brand new Nautilus. He said he does not have one in stock but can order one in and it will be here in 3 to 4 weeks. I asked him how confident he is with this estimate. He said 100%.We then proceeded to discuss price. Without much effort on my end, he offered a discount in the 15-20% range. I gave a range here because I am guaranteed at least 15% but he gave me a sense that it could possibly go to 20% if I commit soon. I was shocked upon hearing the discount, but kept my poker face until the end.For the record, this is a popular Nautilus model that many of the members here sport. From what the store told me, he is only being allocated one this year. Once I buy it, he will not have mo
Rolex to Patek and Back to Rolex?
Awhile back I read a comment that several Rolex owners bought Patek and then returned back to Rolex. This confused me so I asked the question. Newbie owner here but I am trying to give my Rolex models wrist time while preferring my 5070. I wish there was a way to wear it inside out so I could stare at the movement.
