The Sj?? Sandstr?m Royal Capital Is The Latest Luxury Watch From Sweden
When it comes to new watch brands on the market, we often encounter a lack of transparency with regards to the origin of the movement (for instance, a low-cost quartz ticker). If the new brand manages to pick up a mechanical movement of some sort, they still might bury it in the information, almost as if they are ashamed they have not created their own. With the new Sj?? Sandstr?m Royal Capital watch, things are definitely a bit different, in that regard. For starters, let us talk about Sj?? Sandstr?m. They are a Swedish company (not too many watches coming from there as of late), with roots going back to 1986. It was then that two engineers, Christer Sj?? and Mikael Sandstr?m, came together over a love of watches. Their first effort was an automatic piece produced in 1993, and a worldtimer introduced in 1997. Now, in 2014, they're introducing the Sj?? Introducing: The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic 85th Anniversary Edition
Pre-SIHH 2016 announcements continue to roll into HODINKEE and this one is from fan (and HODINKEE) favorite, Jaeger-LeCoultre. The Reverso is turning 85 this year, and to celebrate, Jaeger-LeCoultre will show new models in both the Classic, and Tribute collections. 1 OF 17 Vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, 1933. If there were a special horological Academy Award for the most inexhaustibly fertile source of design inspiration in a wristwatch of all time it might well go to the Reverso. In varying incarnations, it has been a vehicle for everything from high complications to dual time zone watches (for which application it is a natural) to some of the most beautifully decorated or engraved watches ever made. Possessed of both a very idiosyncratic identity, and remarkable versatility, it's the single watch most powerfully associated with Jaeger-LeCoultre and probably will be for the foreseeable future. 2 OF 17 3 OF 17 4 OF 17 Now, let's
Looking for Guidance
Hey guys. I just found this listing from Patrick. I have not yet bought anything from him, but we have spoken in the past and the guy is an absolute pleasure. That said, I am very interested in this AP, yet I know little about the brand. At 42mm and 14.5 thick, this does not seem very big. For reference, the standard speedy is 42mm and 13.5 thick. Can anyone tell me more about AP lume? And do you think this is OK as a daily. I am in casual wear 100% of the time. Does it feel tough as in a Rolex, are they reliable etc...Any thoughts or info you could provide would be appreciated. .rolexforums/showthread.php?t=493985
