Watch Experts Network: ‘Summer Special: Seiko SKX007 vs Citizen NY0040’
Sun's out guns out! Yes, it's June and that means that people are giving serious thought to where they will spend their vacation. For most, this entails some sort of beach setting and may include activities in the water such as swimming, diving, sailing or surfing. If not, though, the vacation usually involves some sort of travel and often to a foreign land. This is where, if you like watch forums, things get entertaining. So, if you're a forum reader, especially on a forum that focuses on more expensive brands, we are now entering the season of the infamous, Is it safe to wear my insert watch brand and model to insert destination threads. The threads often ask about South American locales where eagle-eyed squadrons of motorcycle gangs apparently roam the streets poised and ready to forcefully pilfer your Rolex with nary a thought about your life's worth. Amazingly, as our news media becomes increasingly sensational, I see questions from quaking travelers asking about bucolic places i
Is it difficult to obtain an AP 15400 or 15202 (Jumbo) from an AD?
As a multiple Rolex owner, I am aware that certain Rolex models are very difficult to obtain. If I want to buy a Royal Oak from an AD with whom I have a good relationship, are they readily available?
Ticket to AP JoyRide ... FOUND !!!
Dear all, I have been silently following the proceedings on this forum for a while ! .. and have finally found my ticket for the joyride A Huge Thanks to Adam Craniotes for helping me choose the AP that best suits my tastes ... and to Matt.Wu for helping me find one .. ! The moment I strapped it on, I was in love .. The Forged Carbon Diver is just so handsome !!! [ it glows like a dream in sunlight .. ], the ceramic bezel is the best I ve ever seen and the level of finishing on the dial is just phenomenal .. Here are a few quick and dirty shots from yesterday evening ... A more detailed pictorial will follow in a while.Cheersnishant
Been a tough week for me....
Well a tough two weeks really. Saw a beautiful 1966 Rolex GMT gilt on a local auction site last week at a great price. My partner also saw value in it, so we bought it together as an investment. I also managed to sell my PAM190 and managed to fund a new GMT BLNR which I paid for two days ago. While at the AD, I asked about a 5167. They had just gotten it in. So fondled it a bit and realised I needed it. I have heard about Pateks speaking to people and can swear I heard it talk. It had been haunting me for the last two days and after a bit of forwards and backwards on the price, emailed them this morning to consider it sold. I'll go pay for it tomorrow. I am going to have to sell my Exp II and my SubC to help fund it, but that's what we do for Pateks I have learnt. Didn't set out to do this at all. But there you go.
