My First Grail Watch: James Lamdin Of watches-dealer (And analog/shift)
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with one of our own writers, James Lamdin. Along with writing about watches, he's also the founder and CEO of analog/shift, and he's painted us a rather vivid picture of his own grail hunt.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?James Lamdin: I am James Lamdin, and in addition to my freelance writing for ABTW and other outlets, I am the founder and CEO of analog/shift, an online boutique with a curated selection of vintage timepieces. In other words, I work on both sides of the timepiece industry, covering new watches and current events while wearing my writer's cap, as well as buying, selling, and brokering vintage wrist and pocket watches for individual and corporate clients. I feel the need for blue titanium!
I have become captivated by the blue titanium models and am trying to decide between the PO GMT, 45.5mm PO or the blue speedy. I haven't found an AD that has all 3 in stock and would welcome people's opinions.
Crazy to get a 2nd PO??
I already have the PO2500 in 42mm, the black version and lovin' it.I love my PO so much I am eyeing the orange version - orange bezel and orange rubber (with clasp). Also cal 2500 and 42mm. Getting a good deal for a brand new one stock one. AD is clearing stock u see to bring in the ceramic 8500.After all PO are meant to be the orange the classic Am I ??
The Best Looking TT on the Planet?
I took this picture last night next to my RG 5980 and cannot get it out of my head. That blue dial.........
Short wait BLNR uk ADs in the west country...
Hi all,I bought an Explorer II 40mm about 6 months ago to go with my 16610LV, but it hasn't grown on me....I'm looking at a BLNR as my next purchase, and have seen lots of topics about using small regional ADs to get watches quicker, some saying they've had BLNRs in 4 weeks !I spoke to my nearest AD in Cheltenham, who wanted 10% deposit up front, and was quoting a wait of up to a year .Just wondering if anyone had any ideas if AD in Worcester, Bath, etc are quicker? Also looking to shift the exp II if anyone is interested !CheersJ
