Affordable Vintage: Seiko 6105
Today, we’re excited to bring you the first of hopefully a long series on interesting and largely affordable vintage dive watches by w&w friend, @vintagediver (head over to IG and give him a follow for great pics daily). Enjoy!Seiko has a rich history in the world of dive watches, and it’s safe to say that none is as iconic as the venerable Seiko 6105-8110/9 (aka 6105-811X). It is the definitive Seiko diver, and it holds it’s own against the other iconic divers of the 1970’s. This is known as Seiko’s 3rd generation diver, following the 6217 (aka 62mas)?and the slimmer 6105-8000/9. The 6105-8110 and 6105-8119 are exactly the same, but the last digit in the reference number indicates in which market the watch was originally sold. The 6105-811X was made from 1970-1977, and came in two slight variations. The early models from 1970 were labeled “water 150m proof” on the dial, and “waterproof” on the case back. At some point later that
Omega strap for Planet Ocean
Guys,Any ideas on where to get a new Orange alligator Omega strap from for a Planet Ocean... Have decided that if I go for one, then I'll order with S/S bracelet, and get the strap.. It's not a watch I plan to keep long term and I dare say the Orange strap will become dirty very quickly.. So I can then sell it on the brand new bracelet... I have been quoted 180 by AD, is there anywhere else I can try maybe on-line ?I'm a novice at this Omega business

Greetings guys hope everyone is well..I thought I would share some snaps of my new double sealed incoming today, my 1st step into the Patek World after many many months of searching and flying to various countries in the World visiting Patek ADs and never actually seeing this amazing 5980R in person I decided to pull the trigger on one..A special mention to my friend Ken(thehighlander65) for all his help and patience in answering my questions on this amazing brand and also for pushing me in the nice direction of my other friend Khalid (Patekcollector on IG) who got hold of this amazing piece for me. Both are absolute gentleman with a capital G, thank you both once again..Hope you enjoy my pics...Andy ( Jetkopite on Istagram)
Calatrava, Nautilus, Aquanaut, or ???
For months I've considered upgrading my meager two-watch collection, currently comprised of a stainless steel Breguet Marine and a rose gold JLC MUT Moon. I've initiated several forum threads during my search and have received many kind replies from TRF members.I initially focused upon a yellow gold Rolex Day-Date because I had the opportunity to buy a new one from an AD at a reasonable price. But I wasn't sure how the Day-Date would fit into my collection and which occasions might be appropriate for wearing a Day-Date. Is the Day-Date a flashy casual watch, a flashy special occasion watch or just over-the-top flashy? Don't get me wrong, I really like the Day-Date and often wish I owned one but, on the other hand, I'm not absolutely sure it fits my self-image. But if I did buy a Day-Date I would keep my other two watches.I eventually realized that I could buy a Patek Philippe for the money I was about to spend on a Rolex. With the guidance of forum members I discovered the b
