70's Breitling Chrono
Hey Guys...I normally spend time in the Rolex section, but I got drawn over here today on a thread about the Emergency...So I thought I would post some info about my 70's Chrono...My Mom gave this one to my Dad around 1975. He was flying a lot, so she wanted to get him a nice watch for timing his check-points (way before the day of GPS ) He was also a farmer, so he abused the watch daily, but it mechanically held up incredibly well...I started flying in 1986, so he passed in on to me...soon thereafter, I almost destroyed it in a motorcycle crash, when I was hit by a car and slid 90ft down the paved highway (I didn't measure it out, the Kentucky State Trooper did). Fortunately the case stayed off the pavement but a hole was eaten completely through the crystal during the slide. I had the crystal replaced and wore the watch daily for about 10 years. While I was living in Birmingham, Alabama, I met a serious watch tinkerer (bought a Red Sub from him) and he offered to restore it for me -
Stunning Beauty ! 34mm Ladies Seamaster AT 231.25.34.20.55.004
Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum although I've ventured into mechanical watches a few years ago. Would like to share with you this Ladies Aqua Terra model since I've not seen it being posted elsewhere. It's an anniversary present for my lovely wife. We received it 3 weeks ago. IMO it is elegant and stunning but I leave it to you to decide with the photos. At 34mm it is perfectly sized for ladies, not too big or too small. Not that thick either. It has the 8520 Omega Co-Axial movement which is very stable and reliable (I've monitored it's performance and it gains about 2s daily without wearing on a fully wound crown and without any watch winder, while it gains less than 0.5s on days that my wife is wearing it). Could not have asked for more. The crown, bezel and the hands are YG. Transparent caseback with 150m waterproofness.By the way, I did not know that the watch also came with a card certifying the quality of the diamonds. It stated IF to VVS, which is an added bonus for a w
