Return Of American Made: RGM Brings Back A US Made Watch Movement, The Caliber 801
It has been a long while indeed since any mechanical watch movements have been made in America. Sure there are high quality American watch companies such as RGM, Kobold, Hamilton, Ball, and various small operations such as the Bozeman Watch Company and Ryser Kentfield, but buy mostly Swiss made movements and special parts. It was probably Hamilton that last made mechanical watch movements 30-40 years ago.As an art almost lost in America, it took Roland Murphy of RGM watches to re discover watch movement making. To that extent, RGM is releasing the first American made watch movement, the Caliber 801, in a new line of watches to be available soon. The movement is a highly decorated, attractive three hand movement with a subsidiary seconds. It features 19 jewels and is manually wound. All but the most intricate parts are constructed and assembled in America.RGM is located in Mount Joy located in Lancaster County Pennsylvania, which is coincidentally the place Hamilton watches stopped mak
Long term review - AP 15300 Royal Oak

Finally the Hirsch curved end leather straps arrived.
Improviz the hirsch straps look very nice. it arrived today i will get it fitted tommorrow. I had a question. The Hirsch straps i bought ( i bought 2 , black and dark brown) are 22mm leonardo principle range. They came with the spring pins included. But I was surprised how small they are. Barely sticking out of the sides when placed inside the strap. I was wondering are they really this small ? I have attached photos. If anyone else have bought hirsch 22mm straps for their PO's have a look. does the spring pins look big enough ?
Help Understanding the 233
I am fairly new to Panerai, and certainly have the bug. My first two pieces in the last year are a 111 and 388, as I wanted a Luminor and Radiomir. I am ready to add a historic piece which will likely be a 372. However, the more I explore the more I am drawn to the 233.With all the talk about base, clean dials, and a general less is more appeal - why does the 233 seem to overcome the desire for simplicity, and be so well received by many of the aficionados on here?I am leaning towards the 233, and would just like more thoughts on why this piece fits into a collection. Thanks,Will
Any current or former Navy Submariners on here wearing a Rolex?
I served on several fast attack submarines in the 90's! The SSN-759 Uss Jefferson City was my last boat. This is what always got my interest into dive watches!Love my Deep Sea
