Watch Experts Network: ‘Introducing the Chopard Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Jacky Ickx Edition (including live photos & price)’
And the winner is Porsche. Well, if we focus on cars engaged at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, there's no questions anymore. Porsche is the clear winner of the 2015 edition of the legendary race, with 2 cars at the 1st and 2nd positions, in front of Audi Sport. However, in the race of watches celebrating a partnership with one of the Le Mans teams, we have a new competitor, just after the TAG Heuer Nismo and the Oris Audi Sport C and the new Chopard Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Jacky Ickx Edition has quite some arguments to be the first to cross the line. While the watches celebrating the partnerships with 24 Hours of Le Mans teams Audi Sport and Nismo/Nissan C meaning a TAG Heuer and an Oris C are pleasant but technically simple chronographs (both reasonably priced and featuring classical Sellita movements, clones of a Valjoux 7750), its seems that Porsche requirements in terms of technical specs are drastic, as the watch proposed by Chopard plays on another level. Indeed, it's like compari
Incoming! PO8900 Orange
Picked up a Planet Ocean 8900 yesterday. Had a Planet Ocean 8500 orange but flipped it about a year ago. Everything that was wrong with the 8500 has been fixed with the 8900. So far, I am loving it. It is very comfortable on the wrist. I am loving the new bracelet and clasp with the push button micro adjuster. Looks like it will probably give +/- 10mm of room. If you do need to throw it over a wetsuit, there's another diver extension you can open up. Although it's 16mm thick, it's balanced out very well at 43.5mm. My biggest dislike with the 8500 was that it was very top heavy at 42mm. Not the case here. Sorry for the poor iphone pics.
Bigger Patek...
Today, I swapped out a link on my 5711/1A for a 1.5 link. With the warmer weather, I find that my wrist swells and I need half a link. Conversely in the fall I have to swap out smaller again. The 1.5 link makes the watch very comfy if a little goofy looking.I also flipped the clasp around as it's easier to put on. Anyone else need to make summer adjustments?
Pam 692
Hi All. I have a handful of Panerais and always seem to gravitate torwards Luminor Submersible 47mm, my submersibles are 305, 285, 507 and the 508 and I apsolutly love the 692. I especially like the new material for Panerai and what they are calling called BMG-TECH (Bulk Metallic Glass) i think the fact they have figured out this new material and a 50 year guarantee from the movement needing any kind of lubrication is cutting edge and will sell like hot cakes and probably make its way to other models. It's suppose to be lighter and more durable than their titanium and the color is said to be slightly darker than the titanium with a gray hue, which I like.Although I haven't seen it in person, I know I'll want the watch but trying to talk myself out of buying another submersible. Has anyone seen this watch in person? If so, would like to get some feedback.
