Hands-On: With The Hamilton Pan-Europ, A 70s Racing Classic Revisted
There is no doubt that one of the trends to emerge from Baselworld 2014 was brands reviving classic models with small modern updates. Usually this means a slightly larger case and maybe some new functionality, all while retaining the design traits that made the original a classic in the first place. Hamilton unveiled the Pan-Europ, a sport watch that definitely carries all the 70s style of the original chronograph Pan-Europ. Here we take a closer look at this affordable re-issue. 2 OF 6 The first Pan-Europ debuted in 1971 and was one of the very first automatic chronographs. It housed the legendary Calibre 11 movement (called the Chrono-matic by Hamilton) and hit all the style hallmarks of early 70s racing watches. There was the bold timing bezel with large numerals, bright colors, and the barrel shaped case, which you might recognize from the Heuer Autavias of the same era. 3 OF 6 The watch we have here is a revival of the later non-chronograph Pan-Europ. Strangest Conversation WithLocal AD
I recently acquired an H series ROO Diver. When I went to attach an OEM bracelet, I noticed that the prior owner was less than meticulous about turning the case screws holding in the plots. I called the local AD and asked about the buying new screws. The answer baffled me. I would have to drop off the watch and wait about 4 weeks for a quote. If the quote was accepted, the watch would be sent to the AP service center for a least several more months. For four screws? Even the technician was chuckling about this. I guess that I forgot how long it took me to get my last RO Chrono serviced for a poorly resetting indicator. That took the better part of 5 months. AD shenanigans aside, I love the watch. I guess that I'm spoiled by the local Rolex Service Centre here in Toronto.

I'm kind of new to AP watches, and I've been thinking of purchasing one in near future. So far, I'm so impressed with the ROO Tour Auto 2012 Chronograph. In overall it looks so different then other APs, especially the dial (white color tapestry model with red hands and blue markers) and also its blue color rubber with red stitching.What do you guys think of this beauty? Hi gents.Since I got my 14060M, I keep thinking about selling my 2531.80 Bond Seamaster... My 14060M will be my daily beater. I'm afraid the Omega will go stay in the drawer most of the days.What do you think? Anyone has sold theirs and regretted it afterwards?

I was just informed by an Omega boutique that the Seamaster Planet Ocean 2201.50.00 is not available anymore. Are they serious, or do they just want to push the new model? The 2201.50.00 is still advertised on the Omega website...Has Omega recently stopped production? Could anyone here tell me where to get a new one (I live in Florida), I really prefer the older design of the PO.Any help is appreciated,Nick
