Four New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Watches For 2015
The perpetual calendar is among the most highly regarded complications in?horology C and?with good reason. The way its all-mechanical brain knows the lengths of the months throughout the years and makes the date display jump from the 28, 29, 30 or 31st day to the?1st all by itself, even in leap years, is?genuinely amazing to all watch enthusiasts C while its exact workings?is understood by much fewer. The four new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar watches for 2015 bring back the terrific looks of the original "RO QP" C the Royal Oak Quentime Perpetual C albeit at a slightly larger size.Originally designed?in 1981, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar to this day, remains one?of the most timelessly beautiful dress watches with this complication. What's new in 2015 is that the "new" models, by the reference?26574OR.OO.1220, are 2 millimeter wider, coming in at 41 millimeters now (that is, excluding the crown, as always). Two versions in steel and two in pink gold,
Hublot Sponsors The Exosuit Diving Suit Wearable Submarine
Swiss Hublot has its hands in a lot of things, ranging from sponsorships to limited edition watches that seem to celebrate other limited editions. We can't cover them all, but once in a while there is an image or story that we just have to share. It looks like Hublot is sponsoring an Exosuit for the European team that is continuing to dive and explore the region around where the Antikythera device was found. UPDATE: Hublot has (of course) released a limited edition watch called Hublot Oceanographic ref. EXO4000 731.QX.EXO14.If you recall, back in 2011 Hublot's genius designer Mathias Buttet recreated the ancient Greek calendar device into a wrist watch. I was at the official unveiling of the movement, and I have to admit that what Mathias did was really cool. Last year in 2013, Hublot released a limited edition watch inspired by the original Antikythera timepiece known as the Hublot MP-08 Antikythera SunMoon (hands-on here). Apparently, exploration work continues on the ship wreck wher
Possible Patek purchase...Nautilus or Aquanaut?
Hi all. I've been a loyal Rolex owner for years. I'm looking isn't the world of Patek. What makes the Nautilus more desirable or expensive than the Nautilus? Major differences between the two? Thanks.
New member needs advise - Daytona
Hi all, I am new to the forum and i have been reading a lot of your great advises. That helped a lot on my journey deciding for my first rolex model: Daytona. I adore the Daytona, i feel in love with it after seeing the TT black MOP with diamonds, but now i have also seen the rose gold and find it very hard to decide. Which one do you like? which of the 2 do you think will hold the value best? I will hopefully never want to sell it, but who knows. My first Rolex will be bought in a Rolex store. hope you can help :)
Incoming - Custom Ceramic Daytona
Last August, I purchased a black face ceramic Daytona from an AD after a year wait. Beautiful watch but to me could be better. I contacted Les Artisans de Geneve to customize it, with a 6263 hand made face, vintage polishing, and new vintage hands. The goal was to keep as much as modern as possible with a vintage flavor. I understand many of you may have your own views of customizing an already fine time piece. The result though to me is stunning and I wanted to share it with the community. Les Artisans... is a company to work with. Currently, the watch is not in my hands yet but here are some pictures of the completed piece on its way. Sent from my BBB100-3 using Tapatalk
