F.P. Journe Launches 10th Anniversary Chronomtre Resonance
Though it was not the first piece produced under the F.P. Journe brand, the Chronomtre Resonance certainly played a major role in establishing Journe’s reputation as a creative maverick. When it was launched, the watch, and the theory behind it, were frequently discussed in the online forums. In 2004, Journe introduced the second version of the Rsonance with the first movement ever made in 18K rose gold, a specification that still applies to all of the brand’s chronometers. Now in 2010, Journe launches a special 10th anniversary model. The dial at 9 o’clock now offers twin digital disks with a 24 hour display, defining the hours of day and night. The dial at 3 o’clock in silver guilloche indicates the local time in a traditional 12 hour display. The movement remains in 18K rose gold, and a new gear transmission has been added to power the 24 hour display. About this new model, Journe says that it remains the most precise mechanical watch in contemporary watc
AP15202ST vs. Rolex DD40 YG
Good day GentsSo a few months ago i deliberated over timepieces, i was in the market for something that would mark the crossover from my usual mid-range piece to a high-end piece. I ended up going with the 15202st, which i decided on as being most complete choice at the time. The two options that made it to my final list were 15202ST and Rolex DD40 YG. Guess what, i still seem to have an itch for the DD40.Would you have a look at both pieces on me, and give opinions on everything which in you'd personally consider to be the pros and cons of flipping the 15202 for the DD40.
Looked at the Speedmaster 9300...
and there were two things that I noticed. First, when I pulled the crown out to adjust the time, I saw that the seconds hand in the left sub-dial would jump and move about 10 seconds forward as I turned the crown and didn't quite return to its original position. Then I put the minute hand exactly at the 12 o'clock position and saw that the hour hand did not line up exactly with any of the hour markers. It was only slightly off, but this was especially noticeable when I put the time to 12 o'clock where the hour hand seemed one minute ahead I where it should have been. The watch was new in the display case, but I didn't ask the sales lady about it as this was at a jewelry store and she started off our conversation by saying that she didn't know all that much about watches. Has anyone else noticed this in the 9300 Speedie? I'm just starting to learn about watches and automatic movements, but it seems to me that a watch in this price range shouldn't have this problem. Thanks.
Is it worth trying?
Hi and sorry for the yet another 5711/5712 related postI will be traveling to Singapore around May 2018 and wanted to check with members that live in or are familiar with Singapore if it is worth contacting ADs there regarding either the 5711 or 5712?? I know my trip is still far but just wondering if my chances will increase if I contact the ADs from now and may be offer to pay a deposit for a chance to have it available by May.I am on so many waiting lists mainly in Europe (as the States is relatively far for me) but I don't think I will be able to get one any time soon. Few months ago I called almost every AD in Europe regarding these two watches and only 7 ADs agreed to put my name on a waiting list with 3-5 years estimate.. So honestly I don't know what more to do. I just regret the many times I saw it and tried it on in 2010 and 2011 and never bought it. I loved it back then but was so into Rolex watches and thought that in the future I will buy a Nautilus... Anyway, your help on
