Introducing: The Montblanc 4810 Day-Date
Montblanc has released a new Day-Date as part of the 4810 Collection. The 4810 Day-Date is a more traditional addition to the line and is reminiscent of the classic Rolex Day Date. 1 OF 1 The watch features a 43.5 mm stainless-steel case and is 10.14 mm thick. The silvered guilloché dial has applied red-gold-plated Roman numerals, an arched aperture for the day at 12 o’clock, and the date aperture at 3 o’clock. As seen on the other 4810 models, the 4810 Day-Date features Regate-style, red-gold-plated hands. The movement used is the caliber MB 24.18 (a step up from the 4810 Automatic). The new 4810 Day-Date will retail for $2,785. More details and pictures to follow, and for more information check out the Montblanc website here.Follow HODINKEE's live SIHH 2016 updates here, and in our mobile app, and you can read all SIHH stories here.
Dark Side of the Moon Owners!
I would love to hear from owners of the strikingly beautiful Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon. How do you like your watch? Have you ever gotten bored of it?Pictures would be an appreciated bonus!
Nautilus blue dials
Hi all, as a few already know I have a 5712-1A, and honestly I have never seen in real any other blue dial Nautilus, well apart from the 2 tome 5980, but it has a very special kind of blue, which to my knowledge no other Nautilus has, except for maybe the 5711P, but I still think they are different since I don't see any high end watch maker putting a platinum blue on a SS watch, and when I look at the Patek website, on pics the 5712 blue has nothing to do with the other blue Nautilus dials, so was wondering, is it just the pics which give this impression and is the 5712 blue the same as the 5711, 5980 blues of the SS models or is it really different? For those who haven't noticed I invite you to look on the Patek site and the difference is clear, at least on pics. Thanks in advance for your insights and helping develop my Patek culture, yes I know I am just at the beginning of the road there is still a long journey ahead but as much as I know about Patek since I am a child, I never had
The Stripper and the Patek
The Stripper and the Patek Mar 22, 2005 - 12:50 PM (This is a reposting of an article on another watch forum).PLEASE NOTE - I am a Patek owner and my wallet has on average about $15 (if I am lucky) in it! Last week I was entertaining some Japanese business guys and they wanted to see a strip club. So we go to a strip club in sleepy little Nashville but I forgot that I had my 5970 on my wrist. We find a spot and settle in, sip a drink and a beautiful girl sits down. After a few minutes of small talk she says That's a Patek isn't it?. Feeling stupid and more than a little worried I say Nope, just a cheap copy. Looking at my wrist in almost total darkness from 3 feet away she says Yeah, it's too big to be that calendar stop watch they make... what's that one called again?. I'm thinking 'how the hell does this chick know about a 3970?'. Why the interest in watches baby?, says an uncomfortable HRC. I can sort men by their watches and shoes says the expert. Rolex guys are all flash, avera

If given an opportunity to buy this piece, would you consider it? A mint condition for under US$15k is it considered reasonable?Like to hear your comments please.cheers
