Carl F. Bucherer Manero BigDate Power
Carl F. Bucherer’s new three-hand Manero BigDate Power is driven by the CFB 1964 automatic movement and has has two functions. At 6 o'clock is a power reserve indication that extends in a gentle curve between the 5 o'clock and 8 o'clock indexes. The big date is displayed in a frame at 12 o'clock. Find pricing inside. The 40mm round case is available in stainless steel or 18k rose gold, on bracelet or strap, and with or without diamonds. The Dauphine hands are a first for a Manero timepiece. The stainless steel ranges from $5,800 on strap to $6,400 on a bracelet. Rose gold ranges from $16,600 on strap to $33,800 on a bracelet. The diamond versions are $23,600 in rose gold on a strap and $40,700 in rose gold on a bracelet.
I normally do not care for "black on black"
By that I mean, a black strap on a black dialed watch. For instance:
Is this a PAM

Insanely bad Customer Service - Friend's 312 Hour Marker Issue
See my old thread for the sad story up to now. However, it gets worse. In summary for those who don't want to check the link... the hour hand on his 312 would not hit the hour marker dead center on the hour. I.e. 1, 2, 3 o'clock etc. He had an AD send to Panerai to adjust and it came back exactly the same. Subsequent efforts resulted in no change..rolexforums/showthread.php?t=493894My buddy had the AD send the watch BACK to Panerai again. They said it had to go back to Switzerland. Whatever...as long as one of their folks can fix this hour hand situation. So the AD calls him back and says this is what Panerai will do...1. $100 for a polish 2. replace the dials3. replace the hands4. clean the bracelet, buckle for $236Estimated turnaround time... SIXTEEN WEEKS!!! :He scratched the bezel himself / wanted it taken care of...this is insane I told him. Besides. If they intended to refinish the rest of a barely worn 312, that is more insanity.OK...re: #2 & 3...they won't charge him. But
Boston area service recommendation?
Hi all-I'm approaching the process of sending my watch in for service. It's a 1988 168000 that I bought new and likely will send it off to Rolex as I have in the past. I was considering having them replace the bezel insert as there is missing paint on the top of the triangle near the pearl from some kind of 'encounter' over the years. It's not that big of a deal, but since I'm going to the trouble and expense it would be nice to have the watch looking it's best for the next 30 years. After spending some time here and learning a great deal, I've concluded that maybe it's best to replace the insert prior to sending it off as I'm told that Rolex doesn't return the original parts and I'd like to keep the original insert.I've been poking around and while I haven't found one yet, expect that at some point I may be able to find a period correct replacement. I think I understand the differences in the number font, i.e.- old to new style, especially in the '4' shape, so will keep an eye on that.
