Vulcain Anniversary Heart Cricket Watch For President Barack Obama: Thoughts
I wanted to go over the new Vulcain Anniversary Heart Cricket watch that was given to President Barack Obama once again. I have discussed the watch on Luxistwatches-dealer, and in other places as well. You should know that Vulcain has been giving new US Presidents watches for over 50 years. It is part of the Cricket watch heritage and started with Truman. He liked the Cricket watches from Vulcain because they not only had an alarm, but one that would actually wake him up. I can't say without a doubt (cause I don't know them all) that the Vulcain Cricket alarm movements are the "best" mechanical alarm watches out there, but you probably won't be disappointed in you get one cause you want a mechanical watch with an alarm function. It also makes fantastic marketing sense for Cricket watches to be presented to Presidents by Vulcain. Talk about effective and easy marketing. What a sell that is if you know a few world leaders are wearing the same watch. It is certainly a step up in value from
Can a Royal Oak coexist with a Nautilus?
I recently got the Patek 5711 as it fit my small wrist so much better than the Jumbo.. And while it definitely is lovely and a keeper I still am tempted by the royal oaks..Am thus tempted by either a 15450 or ROC 39mm in view that they will fit my tiny wrist better..Would it be an overkill of Genta in the collection? Would you divert the funds toward something else? Love vintage Rolex also and a gilt 5513 is on the shortlist too..On that note which RO do you guys prefer? 15450 or ROC? Love the fit of the 15450 but the look of the latter..
Watches you will never sell.
Hey guys I was just wondering, do you have a watch/watches that you will never ever sell under any circumstances? I know that I will never be selling my 1960 ss cal 600 Omega, my 1968 Timex Waferthin, or my 1951 14k yg Lord Elgin. I intend to keep them all as family heirlooms.
the 3 Panerai made for their die hard fans
Panerai made 3 special watches for what they call the Paneristi.Long ago the 195, than the 360 and now the 532.All 3 of them are or were VERY hard to get. Some say you had to be selected. The 532 won't probably be another story. Allocated via the Paneristi website or being a well know Panerai client will probably be the way to get one.I can't imagine John Doe will walk into a boutique or AD and be able to buy the 532The 195 abd 360 were immense popular, the 532 will follow the same path without questionThat aside, which one would you prefer ?The 195 and 360 are almost the same ( black 44 mm Luminor) or would you prefer to have the new 1940 model ?195360532The movement is a no-brainer. The 532 has the nice inhouse P3000 while the other 2 had a simple Unitas
What does the Air-King 119600 portend for the future of the Milgauss?
Although the Air-King's bracelet lacks polished links and a welded crown on the clasp, the Air-King sports the same movement and double case as the Milgauss. But for $2,000 less.My question is: what does this mean for the future of the Milgauss? How will Rolex keep interest in the Milgauss at a $2,000 higher price point. My own guess is that Rolex will eventually introduce an improved movement to Milguass, but not on the Air-King.Thoughts?
