Found: The Patek Philippe Owned By The Founder Of Coca-Cola, And Other Ultra Cool Pateks Now On Exhi
There is, as we've mentioned elsewhere, and as many collectors know, a very long and rich common history between Patek Philippe and Tiffany, which goes all the way back to 1851, as we've explored elsewhere. It's a remarkable history with a remarkable legacy, with Tiffany-signed Patek Philippes forming a significant group of watches and often commanding a premium at auction over non-Tiffany signed models, thanks to their relative rarity. Patek Philippe and Tiffany have just opened a remarkable exhibit: a selection of unusual and in some cases unique Patek Philippe watches and pocket watches, from the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva. They will be on show at the Tiffany flagship in New York for the next six months or so, and are a must-see for pretty much anyone interested in horology – it's exceedingly unusual for Patek museum collection timepieces to be seen anywhere outside the Patek Philippe Museum. Planet Ocean Chrono Issues
I have seen a few issues with this model. Two had a defective column wheel lever (lever would not engage the column wheel, which impeded the proper functioning of the chronograph) and one had a loose (completely unscrewed) oscillating weight screw. All on new watches, fresh from factory. That whole Toyota thingee got me in the mood to talk about manufacture defects and such.
5960p , Lovestruck ! New Addition
Not much to say, i'll just leave this ONE pic, and it speaks for itself droooooollllI know some of you have seen my anti Patek posts due to bad experience and well, I do still think a bunch of the pieces are overpriced... but after experiencing tons of higher end pieces (50-100k) I can honestly say they are all overpriced This watch however makes me see it's true value, it just feels so special, just perfection in my eyes.On to my new 5960p , I went back and forth between Grey and Blue dial.. I wound up with Grey, and let me say, I am so happy with my choice ! I love the elegance of the grey, so versatile, yet still can be casual/sporty. The dark brown strap I also love , and I didn't in pictures. After pairing it with many outfits it goes with everything, just a stunning watch in every way !
