Baume & Mercier Capeland Shelby Cobra Limited Editions
Baume & Mercier, which began a partnership with Carroll Shelby, Inc. in 2015, expands its collection of limited-edition chronograph watches inspired by the famed Shelby Cobra race cars this year. The newest models, introduced at SIHH 2016, take their distinctive design codes from the Shelby Cobra CSX2128, the 289-series roadster that won the 12 Hours of Sebring race in 1963 to become one of the most successful Cobras in history. The Baume & Mercier Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963 Limited Edition comes in two versions, each with a 44-mm-diameter case. One is in stainless steel with satin-brushed and polished finishing, attached to a black alligator strap with white contrast stitching and yellow, rubberized calfskin lining (pictured at top); the other “Competition” edition (below) has black ADLC coating on the steel case and comes on a strap made of black, vulcanized? rubber, the same material used in the wheels of a Cobra race car.Other design features inspired by the Shel
Why is Hublot hated by AP Collectors?
Why is there is a general feeling amongst the AP crowd that Hublot is undesirable?Having watched that Hodinkee video with JCB, I've become more interested in Hublot. Some of the Hublot Big Bang models look pretty cool and are much cheaper than AP. Is it because it's more of a trendy watch? Lack of pedigree?Interesting looking watches but not sure if I like them enough to buy one?
Tried a Few Nice Pieces
While in London last week, I had the opportunity to try some great pieces in Wempe New Bond Street:- The new 44mm ROO in SS- ROO Jarno Trulli- also snuck in a PAM231No pics unfortunately, but I made some good decision making progress, also realising how skewed my thoughts on size have become, after wearing the Bronzo for a couple of weeks. So, the 44mm ROO is utterly fantastic. It didn't feel that big (see what I mean), but the only aspect that bugged me was that the shoulders almost overhung my wrist top to bottom. Its just a little to long for me, if that makes sense Lots has been said about the Trulli, so it was just nice to finally handle one. Felt a little dinky in the present company, but what a killer stealth piece. Then the shocker for me, as I really didn't get on with the 44mm Rad. Looks like I'll have to stick with the 1950 cases
Omega PO Bracelet / End Link Question
Hi everyone,This might be a silly question, but I tried looking and couldn't find the answer. I want to put a steel bracelet on my 45.5mm 600m PO Ceramic Chrono. My question is whether the bracelet from the 45.5mm non-chrono version will fit. Do they use the exact same bracelet or is there a small difference - end links perhaps due to the thicker case and lugs? Thanks in advance!
