Close-Up: A. Lange & S?hne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst
Germany’s A. Lange & S?hne marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of its founder, Ferdinand Adolph Lange, in grand style with the recently announced 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst, a limited edition that features a technological first for the brand and sports breathtaking dial and movement decorations. Here’s what you need to know. The A. Lange & S?hne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst stakes its claim to horological history as the first Lange watch that combines two of the brand’s patented mechanisms: a zero-reset function (introduced in a watch in 1997) and a stop-seconds device for the tourbillon (which made its debut in a 2008 model). This combination of functions, Lange says, enables the user to stop and set the watch with to-the-second accuracy.Equally as impressive as the technical feat achieved by this timepiece limited to just 30 pieces, each in a 39.5-mm rose gold case is the array of finishes employed on both interior and exterior elements. Navitimer 01 is gorgeous
Hey guys,I know this is the Rolex forum so I tread lightly on this when I say that I've been a Rolex owner for quite some time over the years and have owned several models but i've been blown away on the craftsmanship from Bretling on the Navitimer 01.I;ve also owned several models of Breitlings over the years including the 7750 based Navitimer back in the early 2000s. Anyway, I decided to sell my Deep Sea and get the Navitimer 01 and I honestly have not looked back. I know they are totally different watches but the Rolex while exciting to own and know it's level of ingenuity...The Breitling is so beautiful and a joy to read and stare at, etc. The chronos are like a tank with this new movt.70+ hour power reserve...unheard of from Breitling previously or Rolex for that matter on most of their watches. I got the 43mm model as the 46mm was too big. I loved the open back but it didn't look right to me at that size.Anyway, if you haven't looked at this watch in-person...go check it out.
Debating Nautilus vs Aquanaut As Daily
I have a Nautilus and wear it nearly every day. It's a discontinued Comet 3710ImageUploadedByTapatalk1364703810.550203.jpgThere is so much love for the 5167 Aquanaut on the forum. I've been wondering...Is the Aquanaut better suited as a daily wearer than a (my) Nautilus? It seems more tool-like and less elegant than the Nautilus, and I don't mean this in a bad way. Quite the opposite when considering a daily wearer!Has anyone gone from a Nautilus as a daily timepiece to an Aquanaut, and not regretted it?BTW, I'm still saving for my 5980 grail, and just realized I'm closer than I thought. I remembered I have a collectible fountain pen I can sell! But that's a story for another time (and forum!)Thanks in advance for sharing your opinions...
