Embarrassed by white ceramic diver / Design flaw
Last night I met up some friends at the beach for beers. After some time I was trying to check the time as I have to leave at 10pm for another gathering. To my surprise I cannot read the time off my AP at all. I have to ask another who can read the time easily off his G-shock. All my friends starting laughing if the AP on my wrist is a watch or bangles? This morning looking closely at the dial I realized that there is no lume on the hour hand and hour markers.I think this a a big design flaw from AP especially on a diver watch which is very likely to be use in dark environment.Do you guys agreed with the design flaw?I want to feedback my disappointment to AP and I was further disappointed. I search through the AP website and there is no email address listed. Frustrating.
Omega...Or Not ???
Back around 1930, the Omega/Tissot watch company was formed (or merged to become) the SSIH Company. This company went on to include, amongst others, Lemania and Lanco.Omega was the working mans watch and Tissot and Lanco were sold in the up-scale luxury department stores such as Macy', etc. This marriage lasted until 1985 when SSIH merged with SMH (Longines/Rado), re-organized and became The Swatch Company.During the period 1930 to 1985, this Lanco was the upscale sister Chronograph to the Omega Chronographs of the day. Possibly the great success and popularity of the Speedmaster introduced in 1957 was the driver that caused Swatch to drop great names and watches such as this. This one is 45 years old, runs flawlessly, and resides in the Omega box with it's more famous brothers and sisters..
5146G - Cream or Slate
So it's time for my next Patek. I have decided on the 5146G but I can't decide on the dial - cream or slate. I have only seen the slate in person and it's a beautiful color, pretty unique. However I know that the cream is more classic Patek (dials in the white/off white family)Which dial may stand the test of time better?Thoughts? Preferences?
Just one dual time zone watch GMT vs Skydweller
If you could have just one dual time zone Rolex what would it be? Probably a Pepsi for me. But now that there is a ss skydeller will the BLNR fade away? Thoughts?
