Yesterday Sotheby's New York held its Important Watches and Clocks sale at their Upper East Side headquarters. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the record-setting sale of the Duc D'Orl��ans Breguet Sympathique clock from 1835, a stunning clock with a docking pocket watch - yes, a docking pocket watch.Just looking at the Duc D'Orl��ans, you can tell you're staring at something impressive. The case is decorated with beautiful ormolu-mounted red tortoise shell, it stands at nearly two feet tall, and the amount of gold sculpture is staggering. Just wanted to get the forums opinion on having both the RG and SS in the same colllection? Is it redundant? Is it perfect? Which one would you keep if you were only going to keep or buy one?
Aquanaut on leather strap?
I really like the Aquanaut on rubber but not so much on bracelet, but I think it would also look elegant and more dressy on a nice black leather strap. What is the lug/strap size? And does anyone have pics on leather? Thanks
