My First Grail Watch: Maximilian Bsser Of MB&F
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Maximilian Bsser who, of course, owns MB&F, which stands for "Maximilian Bsser & Friends." Read on to learn how he got hooked on watches, and about the accident that led to him acquiring that first grail.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Maximilian Bsser: Maximilian Bsser, the founder, owner, and creative director of MB&F.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?Maximilian Bsser: When I was 18. In 1985, my parents wanted to give me a watch as a gift. Their budget was 700 Swiss Francs (approximately $800 USD), and an enormous amount of money for them and for me, so I started researching what was available at that price. At some point, I was sitting in university next to a guy who is wearing a wat
Greubel Forsey GMT Watch Now In Platinum
We've covered a number of Greubel Forsey watches here, and while they're all unique to one another, they share a common design DNA. ?Much of this can be seen in the various ways that complications are built and utilized in a watch. ?For many of the models, this uniqueness transmits itself all the way out to the case, which often has uncommon curves and bulges added, both to accommodate the mechanics, as well as draw the eye in. ?Their latest, the Platinum GMT, is no exception to that rule. Now, for this watch, we actually have three different GMT displays - two of which are conventional, with the third being pure artistry. ?Before we get to the icing on the cake, however, we'll start with the foundation of things. ?To the left of the main time display you have the first (and most traditional) GMT display - a secondary dial that appears at the 10 o'clock position on the main dial, giving us a second time zone. ?Where's the second "standard" readout?Well, for that, you actually need to fl
Audemars Piguet Panda question
Hey guys - So about to pull the trig on this model - have a couple of questions...1. Is the bracelet of the ROO as comfortable as the RO? (I have a 15400) - I heard that the clasp on the H serial ROO isn't as comfortable?2. How does it wear on the wrist (for extended periods of time - on a bracelet) does it feel like a heavy watch or wear well?3. Any pics of an H serial or pics in general would be very much appreciated. Thanks everyone
ROO Panda - Strap/bracelet options for smaller wrists?
Would like to start off by thanking everyone who posted in the thread I started about my experiences with APSC. Thanks for the advice and support, and with your encouragement my letter to HQ probably brought about the pleasant resolution in the end Am trying to get a killer strap for it now, to fall in love with it all over again!Am pondering the singapore F1 strap which a lot of people seem to rave over, vs the bracelet..Can I ask which would be more forgiving/comfortable especially for people with small wrists like myself? (Mine is 6 inch odd)Unfortunately am unable to try it on before purchasing, so experience from those who have would be great, and pics better! As a side note how much in price is the bracelet, new from the boutique? Thanks again all, you guys are the best
Who wants some pannies ? Collection pics
Hello to all !I'm not so much active over here, as I spent most of my spare time on french watch forums.Anyway, I felt I should share my Panerai update collection as nothing new has occured with my Rolex collection. New Rolex will be the new GMT BLNR, but it should not reach my home until mid july...Anyway, as by June 21. 2013, gone are my Panerai PAM 312 and 183.In went PAM 389 (awesome piece of Submersible), as well as a used PAM 243 (submersible 1000m).And today, came my 2 new pieces. It's all about luck and chance if they arrived at the same time. Lucky me I had put money aside to buy them ! LOLMy Panerai collection now consists of :PAM 372PAM 389PAM 243PAM 423PAM 448As some of you might notice, I have received today a second PAM 389. In order to be sure to have one, in fact, I made two separate orders to two different AD.... Well I got lucky, but so far, the second 389 will leave for another paneristi's home in the future. Here are some pics. Enjoy.389 sistersAssolutamenteRadiomir
