LVPD Detective contact me January 18th saying they found my Rolex but cannot be returned to me until the case is assigned to a district attorney. anybody have any idea how long a case would take to be assigned to one?

Tomorrow my g/f will drop by a Rolex service Centre to buy an extra link for her Explorer 214270 mk1. But since the watch warranty is already expire, will Rolex sell the link w/o movement service on the watch ? And if the watch is being serviced by Rolex, how many years of service warranty do they provided ?
