Grieb & Benzinger Blue Merit Customized A. Lange & Sohne Tourbillon Pour Le Merite Watch
There are certain things one simply doesn't do with valuable watches. Some of those things include underwater diving with a minute repeater and taking apart and modifying a limited edition early A. Lange & Sohne Tourbillon. However, if you must do the latter, it might as well be done tastefully, and by a fellow German company - which is precisely the situation with the one-of-a-kind Blue Merit watch by Grieb & Benzinger.Typically the boys at Grieb & Benzinger make their luxury project watches out of historical movements such as a 100 year old Patek Philippe minute repeater or split second chronograph. For the Blue Merit they have endeavored to use a much more modern movement taken out of an A. Lange & Sohne Tourbillon Pour le Merite. So yes, a limited edition Tourbillon Pour le Merite watch from the mid 1990s was essentially sacrificed for this Benzinger-esque transformation. Was it worth it?Before & After: A. First AP will be a 15300 - Silver or Blue?
I'm sure you have all heard this story before but I come from years of Rolex and Panerai and had the chance to try on a friend's Jumbo. It has somehow burned it's way in to my mind and I can't seem to get rid of it. His piece is the 40th 15202ST.OO.1240ST.01.If I'm totally honest, the 15300 is a more palatable way for me to move in to the world of AP based on the price difference between the 15300 and the 15202. I've run across two opportunities to pick up a 15300 one of which has the silver dial and the other has the blue dial. Two questions for you:1. Will the 15300 feel as magical as the 15202 did? (No watches near me to try on.)2. Would you choose the SILVER dial or the BLUE dial? These threads usually drive me crazy because the answer is clearly which ever one speaks to you. The issue is they are both speaking to me and I would like to know which is more popular with you AP experts. Thanks!
Need some help with this Omega Seamaster DeVille
Hey guys and gals, I inherited this watch from my Great Uncle. I know the case is gold due to the expandable bracelet wore part of it down, but it doesn't have the typical Seamaster logo on the back. I know he had the watch for a very long time. It still runs, but it sounds like the rotors needs to be tightened and it needs a new crown and stem. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Good price for Omega Speedmaster Pro 3570.50.00
What is a fair price to pay for this watch new at a retail store?
