Royal Oak vs Daytona
Hi everybody, I need advice on choosing between the Royal Oak 15400ST and the Daytona 116520. This will be my first watch and I am hoping to be wearing it daily. I just graduated from university and this watch will be important to me. I will not be selling it in the future. The prices for both watches seem quite close so I have having a hard time deciding. I really like the design of the Daytona and have dreamed of owning this watch for a long time. The Daytona seems to be more durable as a daily wearer. However, The simplicity of the Royal Oak's dial and overall quality is appealing. How do these movements hold up and the servicing costs for these two watches compare? I haven't heard anything bad about the Daytona's movement. I have seen couple threads about the AP RO. I was also wondering if the current Daytona design will be changed soon. I feel like I can always buy a 15400ST later since its only been around for couple years. However, I feel like if I choose the Rolex, it is such a
New Omegas
I was in the Omega boutique last week and got a chance to handle the new Planet Ocean GMT. It was a very beautiful watch in person, waaaay better than the pictures. I didn't expect to see it but the orange on the bezel caught my eye so I asked to hold it. I must say the orange bezel looks a lot better in person and the orange hand is painted the same as the orange material of the orange numbers of the POs, so it's very brilliant and beautiful. The bezel turns both ways and the black date wheel which looks incredibly odd and stands out in close up pictures of the dial looks just fine. It has a look as to sort of simulate that the white numbers kind of pop out from a shaded background. It didn't bother me at all the way it does in internet photos. Now that Basel is history we see that it's available in all the normal colors also, this watch will be pretty hot also. The biggest turn off for me is the thickness, still too thick. If it were my only big watch then I wouldn't mind, but having to
Thanks friends!
Due to my wife's breast cancer and medical bills, I had to sell my Rolex Seadweller and Milgauss GV for some of the bills... I have had the chance to acquire 3 incredible Omega's... Which until the Seadweller and Milly find their way back, will enjoy these... Thanks TRF!
Another would you-but with a twist
Okay so 5711 values are still headed north but so is the 5960p. Would you trade a blue dial 5711 and a 5146 to get a 5960p? A perfect meld, no?
The obligatory what you cooking while wearing your watch thread
Stuffed jalape?o peppers with seven kinds of cheese and smoked sausage, while wearing my 114060.
