Hamilton Below Zero Diver Watch: Art Deco Industrial Diving Instrument Design
Being an "entry level" nice watch from the Swatch Group, Hamilton has the budget to experiment a great deal with designs. The Hamilton logo itself is art deco in tone, and many vintage Hamilton watches exuded art deco design while the brand was still American owned. With the Below Zero Diver watch, I can see a direction that Hamilton may be going in.Omega (another Swatch Group brand) recently released its new De Ville line of watches, which are classically art deco in design. They are beautiful watches, but with the Below Zero Diver, you get to see art deco industrial in a sport watch. Hopefully we will see more of this trend coming out from under the Swatch Group's umbrella. The ornate detailing around the watch face is all part of the art deco theme. So, let me be clear on what I have noticed with my new Seamaster GMT. First, here is what seems to be right with the bezel:It does not want to pop off; It's not misaligned; It's not loose nor does it spin easily; It clicks sharply as it is rotated; It does not wobble; It does not seem to want to lift up or pull away from the case easily; It seems to fit tightly on the case;It seems perfect except as noted below. So, here's what I've discovered. With the 24:00 hr bezel marker set exactly at 12 o'clock and holding the case in my left hand, if I place the tip of my right index finger at the 24:00 hr marker and tip of my right thumb at the 12:00 hr marker and apply pressure fore and aft, the bezel moves very, very slightly fore and
Thoughts on the 5496P ?
My local dealer took in a 5496 a few weeks ago and I tried it on today. I really like it, but even at the second owner price it is a sobering amount for a watch that doesn't seem to get a lot of love. Anyone care to sway my opinion one way or the other?
Changing straps/bracelet tool

Can someone please refer me to a good place to get a pair of tweezers for me to change the bracelet? I am getting a colareb next week and don't want to ruin my lugs... Cheers!
