Perrelet Turbine Chrono Watch
For 2013 Perrelet will be adding a chronograph version of the Turbine to the popular watch collection. Originally released several years ago as a sort of test sport watch, the Turbine became quite popular and has since spawned a lot of versions, including the original 43mm wide size and later a Turbine XL 50mm wide size (see a full review here). Given the design of the dial and the moving "turbine" that spins with the motion of your wrist, it didn't seem possible that Perrelet could offer additional complications. So I think it is pretty cool that they managed to incorporate a central chronograph to the Turbine. The issue of course is that on a watch like this you can't have subdials (as they would look silly being blocked by the turbine), so Perrelet developed a special central chronograph that measures 60 minutes. The dial's central seconds hand is for the chronograph, and there is no dedicated seconds hand for the time. Minutes are counted on a moving sapphire crystal disc. Minutes a
The Wall Street Journal Profiles The Legendary HMT Watch Factory In India
From time to time, the big boys can turn us on to something great – today the WSJ did just that. Journalist Jesse Pesta has put together a great story (and video!) about the HMT Watch Factory, located in between Nepal and Tibet, where mechanical watches have been produced for more than five decades.Have a read and watch right here.
RG 44 at an Italian
I haven't worn my RG 44 that much this year so I decided to wear it to a nice Italian trattoria, for the first real carbs I've eaten this year. Food was great, we had bubbling hot lasagne, mushroom tortellini but the best was a delicious gooey chocolate brownie with salted caramel and chocolate sauce! There's been a couple of sales of the RG here recently but I can gladly say I loved wearing the watch and it still looks magnificent and it is going nowhere.
Best Omega Service Center
My SMP is due for a service. My last service I sent it to Omega's New Jersey (or was it Penn?) service center. It took something like five months for a routine service: that was 6 or so years ago. Does Omega have other authorized centers that might have a better turn around?
DJ41 on leather???
Anyone out there with pics of the DJ41 on a leather strap? I've narrowed down the dial to either the rhodium or silver to add a lighter colored dial to my otherwise all black dual collection. Love the jubilee bracelet but feel like fluted bezel and jubilee combo is a little on the dressy and blingy side. But fluted and leather combo I think would tone it down a bit. Side note, I actually like the look of the smooth bezel and jubilee combo but feel like the smooth bezel with a strap could be a little bland. So if I were to exclusively keep it on jubilee, I think I would go with the smooth bezel.Anyway, hope there are folks out there that have done this mod and provide me with inspiration. Thanks!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
