Carl F. Bucherer’s triple-time-zone chronograph watch, the TravelTec, gets a matte-black makeover at Baselworld 2016. Previously available in steel and rose-gold variations, the newest version of the Carl F. Bucherer Patrvai TravelTec features a scratch-resistant black DLC coating.The wafer-thin but exceptionally durable DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish on the TravelTec is applied in a multi-stage process, enhancing both the scratch-resistance and shock absorption of the 46.6-mm stainless steel case as well as the stainless steel bracelet (which is outfitted with a black DLC-coated folding clasp). The dark, monotone look echoes that of the black dial, which displays three time zones simultaneously, the third by means of a central red hand pointing to a rotating 24-hour scale on the dial’s flange. So, need a purchase advice..
Hi guys,I'll be doing a purchase in the upcoming couple of weeks and I'm a bit undecided actually.My intention is to add 2 valuable piece of Patek to my current collection.The first one is decided, it is going to be a 5270G. I have my eye on it for a long time now and I would like to own one very much.The other one is a true dilemma for me. I like to wear the watch as much as possible, but on the other hand, I'm trying to get the rare pieces as possible. For me, there are 3 candidates.1. 5711PI wouldn't actually think of another reference if I have my hands on one of this very rare pieces, but I'm not sure if i ever can get it, so I need to have some alternatives, thus this thread exists. This is the true simple but one of the most exclusive piece for me. I was thinking about getting a 5711/1A because of my admiration to its pure simple design, now it has added rarity and exclusivity. But as I said, I'm not sure about the availability, so the poll is really about the other 2 candidates

When I first started looking at Rolex , this is the DJ II that first caught my eye , as I reached the amount needed to buy it , I lost focus and started drooling over higher end pieces.I came across another one the other day and reminded me how nice that azzuro dial is, so I'm on the hunt again for one ! Would you purchase an old black bay, like 14-15 model (smiley face dial) with the old movement? or get the new one with the in house movement? and why one vs the other?? Trying to help a friend make a decision......
