GIVEAWAY: Trip To American-Made RGM Watch Manufacture In Pennsylvania
It is no secret that in its heyday, the American watch industry was the best in the world. Brands like Hamilton, Bulova, Elgin, Waltham, and others were known for producing the best industrialized timepieces and today that legacy is kept alive in scant few places. Perhaps the only true watch manufacture left in the United States is RGM. Started by watchmaker Roland G. Murphy, RGM is located near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a historic hub of American timepiece production. For the 2013 watches-dealer holiday giveaway, the lucky winner will accompany me (Ariel Adams) on a several day trip to RGM for a unique experience at how watches are made in America. We will spend two days at the RGM manufacture learning about how they make American watches the original way. We will also get a personal, and probably, a behind-the-scenes tour of the nearby National Watch & Clock Museum conducted by Roland Murphy himself (who by the way isn't a regular tour guide at the museum). At the RGM facility you'l
I am hooked, jsut not on which one
I have the ich to but another watch and the AP sure have my eye and my thoughts. In my collection I have Rolexes TT DJII (ivory dial), WG Sub, DDII Platinum (ice dial), SS Daytona (black dial) Patek 5726 (white dial) Breitling Nav.Looking at the Royal Oak and Royal Oak offshore. Saw a great dark brown strap. Was kind of thinking of a Rose Gold piece but thinking of a ROO but sort of like the strap on these. Is the RO a better buy than the offshore. I don't like small watches, my Daytona is as small as i would ever go. I like to purchase the rightmodel of the watches I buy. As I am brand new to AP I want the right one. Which one is truly the must have piece?
5170 vs. Duometre a Chronographe
Yes, I know, I know, there is no comparison between the two in terms of finish and shine, plus the Patek will retain value better.Mechanically speaking, which of these two beautiful watches is going to be more accurate chronographically speaking? Does the dual-wing design add additional accuracy that you will not get in the clutch design of the Patek? I know that JLC pushes that idea, but do you all think this is true?Which one do you think is more of a collector's item mechanically speaking? Which is a more robust design?(I'll keep in mind that this is a Patek forum...)
That first scratch....
Just noticed a scratch on my PAM 512 and its a big one. I'm very careful with my watches, so I was quite surprised when I saw it yesterday. Not even sure how it got there..........
NEW YEARS EVE WATCH - Post it!!!!
