This watch will be auctioned off along with forty other timekeeping devices on November 7th. Famous for being the world's thinnest mechanical watch, the Altiplano model is fitted with a manual wind calibre which you can glimpse on the front and back. The slim figure doesn't allow for a dial (3.65mm thick) but the black satin-finish surface gleams in the 38mm white gold case. The hours and minutes tick by beneath two red baton-shape hands which glide over a painstakingly graduated silver ring. AquaTerra 38.5mm anyone own one ?
Anyone have one ? Looking for a little bigger lighter dialed every day beater that I can toss a nato or a leather strap on,,, had a DJ but it just seems a tad small. I think the rippled silver dial AT looks whiteish and I really like it. Are they good quality watches . $ 3300 a good price for a lightly used piece ? Clark.

Elementary question of chrono functionality?
Take the 5170 for example, it incorporates a scale to measure heart rate, ideally this is a precision instrument with the expectation of accuracy? My question is this:If you are a Doctor & would like to utilize the functionality of your precision wrist tool to some degree of accuracy, which is designed to measure heart rate, how exactly do you press the start button (located on your left wrist) after you have located the patients pulse point (using your right hand), without removing your hand from the patients wrist/ pulse point?I ask because a pulse point can often be a very tricky thing to locate, depending on the patients fitness & condition.Ordoes the concensus feel there should be no expectation of using this watch in such a fashion?
