Unknown Breitling with small watch on its bracelet
Unknown Breitling with small watch on its bracelet...This was sent to me and I have no clue if its real, but the watch on the band is intriguing. Opinions welcome and thanks for looking. Ed
How does is GMT look to you?
Had met a gentlemen selling this yesterday and it appeared that the thing was genuine however the date refused to change so I'm thinking there was something wrong with the 1128 movement. The time was set to safe date change hours (not between 8pm and 2am) but using the hour hand jumping it simply would not change the date to the 6th. Then I tried the the long way with the 24h hand going all the way around past 12 multiple times. Afterwards I checked photos from the listing and the date was still at the 5th so it hasn't changed since he listed for sale. The serial engraving looked a little shallow but the dial and other details looked perfect. How does it look to you?
DoctorA comes through again
Thanks to the cooperation and generosity of Ahmed 'DoctorA' I have been able to obtain a GMT BLNR.Ahmed received a call from an AD that had a BLNR available. Since he had already purchased one, he posted here suggesting anyone interested send him a PM. By the time Ahmed and I connected and I called the AD, the watch was no longer available. Oh well, thank you sir. I went back into my zen-like listdweller mode.Amazingly, the next day Ahmed received a call from another AD with a BLNR available. He was able to convince the salesperson that I was the person to sale the watch to. He texted me and I called the salesperson and it arrived today.I am the second person to benefit for Ahmed 'DoctorA's benevolence and can't thank him enough.
Stick with 116600 OR get a 16610LV?
I now have 2 beautiful Sea-Dwellers and find myself lusting after another 16610LV. My 126600 is a definite keeper so I am contemplating selling my 116600 to fund a nice 16610LV. I quite like the idea in my mind of having a 50th Anniversary Sub and 50th Sea-Dweller.
Sea Dweller Deep Sea
So, I really want a SS Daytona but we know that's not going to happen. I've owned a TT Sub and a SS/platinum Yacht Master so I'd like something I haven't had before. I like the looks of the Sea Dweller Deep Sea and its larger size....but thinking of it as a bridge to the Daytona when they are not in such high demand. How is the SD for resale? Will the value hold up in 2 years?Or am I better off going back to a SS Sub for resale puroses? Thanks, Mike
