Pebble Steel Smartwatch Debuts With Mainstream In Mind
From plastic to metal, the Pebble smartwatch grows up with the new "Pebble Steel" for 2014. Is the public ready to start wearing smartwatches? The industry feels that 2014 may just be the right time and more fashionable designs in the traditionally ho-hum-looking nerd watch department are going to start being released. Today, at the International CES in Las Vegas, Pebble announced version 2 of the Pebble smartwatch, aptly named Pebble Steel - will it "steal" the show? In addition to an upgraded design, Pebble flaunts its apps and range of upcoming features.Pebble Steel appears positioned to answer the question, "Could you wear a smartwatch in a business or casual setting?" Because, let's face it, until now you couldn't wear a smartwatch on a date (well most dates). Using more expensive materials and a dressier appearance than the original, that answer is starting to look like "yes" (maybe). The Pebble Steel will come with two finishes including a brushed stainless and black matte case.

navitimer roll call
hi guys, let us see some navitimer here
Another "Which one to choose" thread :)
I've been torn between 4 watches. Coincidentally, 2 are rolex models and 2 are omega models. :P (Rolex Sub and GMT Master) and these 2 from omega:.prestigetime/item.php?item_id=2272 and .prestigetime/item.php?item_id=818I equally love the looks on both watches. I love the GMT function on the Seamaster, but then there's something about having a manual wind watch that interests me. Any other differences between the two that I should know about? :DAnother question is, when it comes to Omegas, is older usually better? Like what's the difference between a Seamaster/Speedy from the 70s and 80s compared to the new ones? Thanks!
Calatrava Strap Options
My recently acquired Calatrava has a matte brown strap with a white gold tang buckle. I would like a black one.Several thoughts are bouncing around in my watch-centric pea-brain:I was thinking of getting non-Patek straps with lock-tite spring bars to facilitate changes (from brown to black). Turns out the 5296 takes a 21mm band. The after-market straps are even sizes. Do I get 20? I have squeezed the larger straps onto the smaller lugs but never with built-in spring bars. Will that work and be better than a size smaller?Should I stick to OEM and just get the proper fitting strap? And splurge on another buckle?Should I forget strap changes altogether since I'm bound to show scratches despite how careful I will be?And let my wallet veto the most obvious solution: I am NOT adding a Calatrava 5196/5116/5119/5120/5123/5227 just to carry the other strap! And yes those are all the Calatravas I want, not in order although I would probably do a sub-sec model next if I could...Any thoughts or su
