Brand to Watch: Aerowatch and the Aerowatch Renaissance Orange Tornado
Aerowatch is a small brand with a big history. At Baselworld 2015, the Jura-based brand debuted the Renaissance Orange Tornado, a new skeletonized watch with bright accents on the dial. It's worth taking a look at both where this watch company comes from and what it's doing today. Here's the Aerowatch story behind the Renaissance Orange Tornado.Aerowatch isn't the most familiar name in the watch world, but it has the kind of solid Swiss heritage that many small independent brands would do anything for. Originally founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1910, Aerowatch aspired to being a watchmaker for the future. As the name suggests, the brand had its eye on an English-speaking international market, and during the golden age of flight it wanted to be the first name in aviation-themed timepieces. An Aerowatch ad from 1910But the path forward was not so easy. The brand moved repeatedly, first to Fleurier, then to Neuchatel. Throughout, it remained a family-run business. When Maxime Crevoisier to

Omega Speedmaster for $63,000
My NAWCC news tells me that four limited edition co-axial Omega Speedmaster Professionals, each the last in their production run celebrating the 50th anniversary of this chronograph, sold for mega buck at a charity auction in Berlin on 7/11/07.There was one white gold, one pink gold, one yellow gold, and one stainless steel watche in a production run of only 57. All four watches were the last of the run, i.e. 57/57. The white gold one went for $63,000; the pink gold and yellow gold ones went for $48,00 each, and the SS one went for $21,000.All proceeds went to charities for children.Lovely watches; worthy charities; cool auction idea!
would you trade. . .
Is there any merit in trading a 5712 and 5167 for a BNIB 5990? That would leave me with the Patek, a Daytona and a Day-Date. Is one complicated Patek worth this sacrifice?
16610 next to 116610
Had a small gathering with a few watch enthusiasts here in Montreal tonight. It was organized by Canadian watch collectors and WatchPaper.Had the chance (for the first time) to see small and big, old and new or 16610 and 116610 next to each other. Although the 16610 is somewhat more charming, with the smaller markers, black bezel and tapered lugs - I can safely say the 116610 is a sure better option for me. It's just perfect!Thought I'd share some pics - enjoy!IMG_1597.jpgIMG_1598.jpgIMG_1599.jpgIMG_1600.jpgIMG_1607.jpgSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
