Affordable Vintage: 1970's Zodiac SST 36000
Zodiac is a curious brand that, at its peak, made just about every type of watch you could imagine. Triple date chronographs, GMTs, 24 hour models, divers, dress watches and watches with all together novel designs were common place for this well regarded Swiss brand. Models such as the Sea Wolf, Olympos and Astrographic are classics in their own right, demonstrating great design and a remarkable amount of creativity. Zodiac was a genuine innovator amongst Swiss brands, and in the late 60's was one of the first brands to bring out an automatic movement with a frequency of 36,000 beats per hour (detailed timeline here). Referred to as their SST or Split Second Timing line, these watches guaranteed (literally) to be the most precise in the world. Someone Offered Me A Full Set 19018
Someone I know owns a 19018 .. Standard, fluted bezel, standard president OQ bracelet, champagne dial .. Box, Papers, booklet tag .. The whole set .. He want's to trade for a 116233 I got new in 2015 plus 1,500 cash (to him) I'm not sure what I want to do on this one. Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm currently in the market for a Sub, GMT, or YM .. Stainless or TT .. I also saw a Cartier Panther in all yellow gold I like .. but I'm still wanting a sports Rolex to add to my collection .. I can't seem to make up my mind what I want
datejust II
New Member hereI currently have a mid 90s TT 36mm datejust and an older 34MM SS datejust. I am not attached to either of them and really am liking the look of the 41mm dates. I have a friend with a 2013 116334 datejust 2 with a diamond dark rhodium dial that he is looking to sell. The watch is worn but in very nice shape. He has not had to service it as of yet and functions as new. My question is what is a fair price range for this particular watch. I am far from an enthusiast and really don't have my finger on the pulse of what these used watches have actually been selling for vs the asking prices I'm seeing on Ebay etc. Thank you for any insight
All The Birds Love A Man With A Rolex
Quite literally. Not birds in the British sense, but at a bird park here in eastern North Carolina. The little guys took a liking to the 15003. The one sitting on my wrist was particularly interested in the second hand.
