WATCH WINNER REVIEW: Marvin Origin Gent Automatic
In July 2014 the monthly watches-dealer giveaway watch was a Marvin Origin Gent Automatic, and the lucky winner was Mark N. After receiving the watch, he has sent us some pictures and the thoughts below. We thank Mark, and everyone else who participates in watches-dealer watch giveaways.I have loved the various giveaways that watches-dealer has offered over the years and I participated in them with some regularity. Sometimes I even found myself forgetting and kicking myself for missing some of the nice giveaways. As time went on, I more or less resigned myself to the thought that I just wasn't going to ever be the lucky winner. I was quite surprised to receive the email from Ariel informing me that I had won the Marvin Origin Gent watch.First and foremost, I want to thank Ariel Adams, the blog staff, and the Marvin Watch Company for this nice giveaway. Your efforts to coordinate these are truly appreciated. In particular, the reviews are enlightening and offer watch lovers to learn of
Pricing on AP ROO forged carbon
I brought my first AP couple weeks ago. Today, my AD called and told me they have a special price for the AP ROO forged carbon 44m. The Model #: 26400au.oo.a002ca.01. They are asking for 27.5K. He made it sounded like it's a fire sale. This is a watch I will eventually get. So my question is, is the offered price too good to pass? Since I just got an AP, I prefer to wait for few months to get another one. But if the price is truly a bargain, I can get it now. Thanks for any feedback.

Gap between lugs and strap
Hi folks,I am looking to buy a pre-owned calatrava from a dealer.Having checked out the piece, everything seems normal, except for this:12o'clock lugs6 o'clock lugsAs you can see in the pics, there is a slight gap between the lugs and the strap, which kinda bothers me.Is this simply because the dealer put a wrong size strap on? (it is a patek OEM) They claim it is the original strap... sure it is a Patek OEM but the strap should provide no gaps.I highly doubt its to do with heavy-polishing of the lugs... the watch is only 5-6 years old, and looks to be in decent nick in general.Let me know what you guys think!
Second watch the hardest?
Well here’s the problem. Bought an Explorer over a year ago and love it. When I tried it on for the first time I knew straight away that I wanted it. Now I’m looking for my second watch and it’s oroving difficult!Been all over the place. Thought about saving for a Patek 5196 but decided it probably wouldn’t stand up to daily wear. Currently tossing up between a Datejust 126334 (Fluted, Jubilee, silver dial) and a Sub 114060. I tend towards the more formal so like the size of the DJ but it does wear similarly to my Explorer. The Sub feels HUGE, but maybe I’m just used to a 39mm watch?Everyone has something different they’re looking at in a watch. For me I love that a Rolex will last forever. Probably the main thing I think of is being able to pass a watch down to my newborn twin boys. So, any thoughts on these two?Cheersps. Sorry about the small photos, can’t figure out how to post full size images
