Watch Experts Network: ‘Authentic NASA velcro strap C Speedy Tuesday meets Strap Review’
If you start to explore the world of Speedmasters and Omega in general one name you will come across is the late and great Chuck Maddox. Many things we know today are results of his thorough research, which is still a reference point for a lot of topics. Let that be a Speedy Pro, a vintage Heuer or vintage chronograph in general; he had his hands in everything. And boy was he ingenious. So ingenious that his works inspired a lot of people to start their own research, buy their first watch, or like the subject of this article, make their own authentic NASA Velcro strap. As Phil (or Kizzi known by members on watch forums and eBay) a veteran Speedy wearer for 40 years puts it: always thought it would be cool to have a watchband linked to Apollo to go with the watch, but the ones available never looked like flown ones sold at auctions or from the NASA image archive, and that always puzzled me. It wasn't until I chanced across Chuck Maddox's website that hosted the NASA watchband specific
Let's talk 15202
Hey Gang,Currently I've been thinking about changing some things up in my collection, ok I'm always doing that but...I had received an offer from a super nice guy here on TRF for a trade which included me receiving a 15202. Although that specific trade did not come to fruition, it did put the 15202 on my brain radar So here's the question:I currently own a 15400 silver dial which I really love. If I had to think of one complaint it would be mayyyybe it's a tad big. It looks fine on me. I do like the size. It gives it a bit of a sporty look on an otherwise very dressed up watch. The 15400 seems to not get much love here on the forum, overshadowed by the 15300 and even more so by the 15202. I'm fine with that, I'm past buying watches only because they are popular . So I thought I'd get some thoughts about the 15202 when it gets down to the brass tacks. PRO's:-The 15202 may be considered the purist Royal Oak, retaining much of the DNA from the original Genta design. From an horological p
Is this a trend with Omega boutiques
Was talking to a shop assistant who was telling me how that now his shop has been turned into a boutique sales on Omegas are down as they can no longer give discounts, and they are selling more of other brands the can discount on. Also said he has had people look at the new PO's that are 5000+ and they have said thats Rolex terriotry and gone to a Rolex dealer and bought from there instead great for Rolex not for Omega, do you think is trend we will see until Omega allow discounts.
Tudor 72060 Bracelet Question
Anyone have the 72060 Tudor Bracelet? I want to do some comparisons because I feel that this one may be counterfeit. My initial reaction once I saw the bracelet was that it had to be counterfeit. The the end-links have metal shards hanging off of them. Tudor would never send something like this out from the factory correct? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
