Three On Three: Comparing The Patek Philippe 5170G, The Vacheron Constantin Harmony Chronograph, And The A. Lange & S?hne Datograph Up/Down (VIDEO)
There is something special about a hand-finished, manually wound, in-house chronograph. It is a category that houses so many of the timepieces to which so many of us aspire to own – and today we will compare three of the very best available in the world today. This original HODINKEE Three On Three pits heavyweight contenders from A. Lange & Söhne, Vacheron Constantin, and Patek Philippe against one another in several categories: design, finishing, wearability, and collectibility. The thing about this comparison is, quite simply, there is no wrong choice – we purposefully selected the finest manually wound chronographs we could think of – all priced similarly – to be able to highlight each watch's strengths and weakness, of which there are many.Have a look at our video first and then read on for the details of these three incredible timepieces. Different AP Diver
Ok so when are we seeing a full Red Gold Diver? I doubt many people actually use their divers for diving purposes so I believe a red gold diver would be a head turner, even more than Tina Turner.
New to the forums finally got a Speedmaster
Hello.Been lurking a long time while searching for an affordable 176.0012 Speedmaster, and I finally found one.It showed up today and all is good except the bracelet is too small for my fat wrist. I have adjusted it to it's biggest size, but still, no luck.Doing some research I have found new bracelets available, but I was hoping to find extra links for mine instead (if possible). Thanks for any help in advance. For reference, here are some pics from the auction site which are better than anything I could take.
How I fixed my Sea Dweller that appeared to not be self winding... by myself...
So a little bit of a back story before I go into the thread. I bought a 11660 1999 Sea Dweller a few weeks ago. Loved the watch and it worked great, but it appeared to run a bit fast, 15 seconds a day fast to be precise. The jewelry store I bought it from gave me a 1 year warranty on it that they provide, so I bring it in. Get it back, running at +3s a day now, great! 1 week later, its New Years Eve, 6pm, and I notice my watch has stopped running. Weird, maybe my reserve wasn't as full as I thought. I wind it and move on with my night. 2 days later its stopped, 2 days after that, stopped. I feel as tho I really can't hear the rotor spinning if I give the watch a little whirl, although when it stops, giving it a little swirl gets it to run, but only for a few seconds, which doesn't seem right. I digress. I bring it to the jewelry store, they agree thats not right but informed me the watchmaker they use for Rolex is off until the 17th, and that I could just bring it back in then, or leav
