Grand Seiko SBGR097 Ltd Ed Watch In 42mm-Wide Case
The default size today for Grand Seiko's more classic timepieces is somewhere between 38mm and 40mm wide in diameter. That isn't a bad size in general, but for some looking to wear the pieces more casually and with short sleeves, these sizes can be too small. Seiko is one of those brands that both listens to consumers and also makes their own decisions about product development, so it makes sense that 42mm-wide classically-designed Grand Seiko "dress" watches are now available in these larger diameters. The 42mm-wide Grand Seiko SBGR family was officially debuted at Baselworld 2015, but now Seiko releases a new limited edition model with the Grand Seiko SBGR097 that comes with a repeating "GS" logo blue dial. The Grand Seiko SBGR097 is technically part of the brand's ongoing "55th anniversary of Grand Seiko" which became part of the Seiko universe in 1960. We've seen a number of limited edition watches this year from Grand Seiko, which is OK, but I am concerned that if this continues, S
New Season Of Man vs. Wild Has Bear Grylls Wearing A Casio Dynamic Wave Ceptor Watch
It all started with a Breitling Emergency watch, which turned into a Bremont Chronograph for a while, and now seems to be a favored Casio Dynamic Wave Ceptor. Bear Grylls flirts with a lot of timepieces. With the absence of new episodes (or any more ever) of Survivorman, I have been forced to turn to the less real reality based wilderness survival show, Man vs. Wild. Survivorman's Les Stroud presented a more real show given that he was the star and cameraman. After a few short seasons Survivorman is no longer, but apparent promises from Les point to a survival related new venture. The competitor of Survivorman, also on the Discovery channel is Man vs. Wild, a show that many of you are familiar with. Bear Grylls, the star of the show is an ex British Special Forces veteran who apparently knows the tricks to survival all over the world. Man vs. Wild. I am sure he is well briefed before entering new areas. Now a few seasons matured, Man vs. Wild has started to develop its character. While
New member of the family!
Drove into the ATL Boutique today to take a look at the Basel 2013 watches. This one caught my eye:
Seamaster planet ocean VS Submariner date
Seamaster Planet Ocean (2201.50.00) or Rolex Submariner date (16610)Well, these 2 watches are looking great... Please argue!Up to now, I love both, I am just thinking Omega is a lot cheaper for a great quality but since I need glasses to read, the Rolex cyclops looks really helpful. But is Rolex or Omega the most accurate? What about the autonomy? What about the value? And what about fashion? I feel like a novice on politic having to vote for the first time... and ready to watch the debate between the two main candidates...
Steel watch decision...
Hey all,I'm looking hard at the Aquanaut 5167 on strap. Close to jumping on it but two other contenders have also caught my eye. The first is the AP Diver, another steel Genta-style watch on rubber. And also the VC Overseas Dual Time in Grey with a leather strap. Both the VC and AP are similar prices, the Aquanaut of course is a little more. The lucky piece will be joining a 5726 white dial and VC Overseas 3-hander white dial - both steel white dial watches which I enjoy. Along with other unmentionables. It is difficult to find an aquanaut to try on so I have to go with my only demo which was on a bracelet and I didn't love it that way. The VC is beautiful and discreet in grey. The AP is well - impressive. Chunky, clean, and surprisingly comfortable. If anyone has any experience or insight into those three pieces I would appreciate some feedback. The Aquanaut is on hold for me, but I don't have much time as there are other potential buyers waiting to chomp. Thanks in advance...
