Ex US Louis Moinet Watch Distributor Sells Collection On eBay
Louis Moinet watches have recently switched distributors here in the US. The former US distributor is selling off much of his personal Louis Moinet watch collection on eBay. There are some great finds and these watches won't last long. One of the watches includes the above pictured Vertalis Tourbillon, which retails for over $200,000, and is available for a more reasonable starting bid of $62k. Family Photo!
I was the first watch guy in my family. I purchased my first Rolex at 25. I'm now 28. This year I sourced a 14060M for my dad and a 16234 / 1501 (solid gold) for my brother. This was the first time we were all together wearing our watches. We all got together for dinner from different parts of the province because I just got engaged last Sunday and we were having a little celebration! Rolex Explorer II Dilema
I know there has been 1,000 threads regarding the new vs old Explorer II size but I was hoping you guys could help me out. I'm relatively new to watch collecting. My only other watch is a two line 14060M. I do have a Luminox Jolly Roger but that's more of a novelty. I was looking to add an Explorer II Polar to the collection but feel the 40 is just a hair too small and the 42 is a hair too big. I've included a couple of wrist shots of each and hoping to get some advice as to which looks better. The maxi dial on the 42 isn't ideal but with the smaller no date sub I thought it might be a nice contrast. Thanks for all your advice!
