Review: Christopher Ward C8 Pilot MK II C Vintage Edition
The Christopher Ward C8 Pilot MK II C Vintage Edition is an example of everything that's right in the world of moderately priced watches.? For a fraction of the cost of a "luxury" watch, you get a superbly well conceived and produced timepiece that far exceeds your expectations for what a $500 watch can be.? If there is such a thing as your average $500 pilot watch, the C8 is not it.Case: Bead Blasted 316L Stainless steelMovement: Sellita SW200-1 26 Jewel AutomaticDial: Black with Old Radium Super-Luminova Hands and IndicesLens: Anti-reflective sapphire crystalCase Back: ScrewdownStrap: Calf’s Leather with Tunnel Stitch and Deployment ClaspWater Res.: 50 MDimensions: 44mmThickness:? 9.7mmLug Width: 22mmWarranty: 5 yearsAs I pointed to in my initial impressions, the C8 Pilot is a watch deeply rooted in the time-honored and traditional pilot watch.? Talking Watches: With John Goldberger
John Goldberger doesn't play in the NBA (though, in his younger years, he could dunk a basketball – I've seen proof). He hasn't won a Grammy, nor has he dated Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, or Katy Perry (that we know of), but even if he had, he wouldn't talk about it. What John Goldberger is is a true horological scholar and serious collector of the highest order. His name in the world of watches is synonymous with expertise, quality, discretion, and taste. He is perhaps best known to watch lovers as the author of not only 100 Superlative Rolex Watches and Patek Philippe Steel Watches, but also books about early Omega and Longines. Goldberger didn't just write these books, either. He photographed, designed, and produced them too. Oh, and several of the watches featured in his books come from his personal collection. The mega-collector stands about 6 foot 3, dresses in a way that a kid from upstate New York only dreams of, and is something of a watch c
To all 15400 owners
I am considering selling my SS Daytona plus cash for the blue dial 15400 royal oak. Question is how dose it hold up as far as daily use. And is the service on it pretty pricy? I have never had AP before so I want to hear your experience. Thanx.
Baselworld vs. SIHH vs. Watches & Wonders vs.
Does anyone on this forum from the US attend watch collector/enthusiast events? It seems the large conventions in Switzerland are not convenient for many of us humble smaller time collectors. The classic car world has Concours which happen all over the country and are generally very good including the d'Elegance/Pebble Beach. Are there similar events for watches/horology that arent just for dealers/retailers?
Nautilus 5712
Ok, so the sickness progresses. I just purchased 5167 on bracelet and I love it. I also have a white gold sub, 42mm Explorer II Polar, Speedmaster Pro, THC blue and GMT II black ceramic (which I am thinking of trading). I am looking at at 5712. Thoughts? Any other suggestions?Thank you in advance for your help!
