Looking to buy a Breitling
Hey everyone,I joined this forum on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm looking to buy my very first Breitling! Here are the specs of the one I'm interested in:- Super Avenger II- Case: Steel- Dial: Stratus Silver- Bracelet: Professional III Steel Polished- Reference: A1337111|G779|168AI was thinking about looking at the authorized dealers on the Breitling website near my area and trying to negotiate a price, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
Speedmaster Crystal Replacement
Looking for my first Speedmaster, and my thinking is getting a 1978 145.022-78. (It's my birth year). However I have found one that looks to be in decent shape (for the age) but it has had the crystal replaced by Omega to a new Hesalite Crystal. To my limited knowledge, this seems to take away from the vintage nature of the piece, but then again... I am told it is very common for watches of this era to have the crystal replacement. Can anyone tell me whether this is the norm for vintage Speedmasters and/or what that does to the perceived value. I don't intend to resell, but I just want to make sure I'm not sabotaging the vintage aspect of my first Speedmaster
5951
What do you guys think of the 5951? I find it very beautiful, especially the model with the engravings, of course the price is very very hefty, around 600K, but I understand whereas I couldn't understand the 400K for the 5950, one is platinum, PC, moon phase, whereas the 5950 is steel and without PC or moon phase.Of course I would never consider getting one except if I was to become very rich, but if you need to save up 20 or more years to get a watch I would definitely have other contenders which would come before, 5204, 5213 and a few others. If I was given a choice as a present between a 5951 and a 5970 I would choose the 5951, but if I needed to pay myself would take the 5970, once again a piece that I will never have the possibility of getting but I am happy to be able to just look at it in pics 5951p-001.jpg5951_500P_001-3.png5951_500P_001-2.png
