Tissot Racing-Touch Watch For 2011
For the last few years we have gotten a new Tissot T-Touch style watch each year. Last year it was the Tissot Sailing-Touch, and for 2011 it will be the Racing-Touch (Racing T-Touch). Here is a sneak peak as what Tissot's new T-Touch model will be all about.Like the T-Touch Trekking, the Racing-Touch seems to be thinner in size, but I am not sure how wide (UPDATE: 43mm in steel for now). For the first time the T-Touch gets a rotating dive style bezel as opposed to a navigational style bezel. The touch-screen Swiss ETA quartz movement gets a few new features. One of them (not new) is oddly not "racing inspired" being a Tide graph. This seems to replace the "Meteo" function that was a weather predictor using the barometric pressure. If the watch is about track racing, I am not sure how the Tide function fits in, but is nevertheless cool. The Tide function was first seen on the Sailing-Touch watch. The watch also feature a "Lap" function which seems to supplement the Chronograph (that is n
Montblanc Villeret Grand Chronographe Enamel Dial Watch
Most people haven't followed Montblanc's ascension to a high-end watch maker like I have. The path they made from even making timepieces in the first place to where they are now is interesting, and only took about 10 years. Villeret 1858 collection watches are among their highest-end pieces and rely on Montblanc Villeret - which was formerly Minerva. This Grand Chronograph Enamel Dial is like an old-world pocket watch in wrist watch form. Even the back of it opens up like a pocket watch. The enamel dial (here in blue) is quite amazing, and at 47mm wide - this isn't your usual petite classy timepiece. Oh, and the movement decoration is really good.See my full article on the Montblanc Villeret Grand Chronographe Enamel Dial watch here.See Montblanc and Minerva watches on eBay here.See Montblanc items on Amazon here.
Face off! Not just a great movie
So I'm thinking of picking up a new watch and the new chronomat 44 gmt is in the mix. Problem is that I love the blue dial and the black one. Does anybody know how much of a pain in the ass it would be to get the dial changed in the event I grew tired of a particular color? Could any watchmaker do it or would I need to send it back to B to get it done? Any guess on how much it would cost?Anybody actually do it?Thanks
2 layers of dial
and 2 layers in PhotoShop will give it a nice touch.
