Omega X-33 Titanium Speedmaster Gen2 Review
Ahhh, it's good to be back. I've been greatly enjoying my near-mint, complete, Second Generation Omega Speedmaster X-33:A handsome watch that is so functional, yet subtle . . . practical, yet exotic . . . and overall, it's just so very legitimate . My backstory: I owned a Gen1 X-33 in the past, but at the time I didn't fully warm up to its less integrated looks. I sold it. But I talked up the watch so much, that a good friend of mine bought one for himself; a Gen2, and every time I saw it I kicked myself that I should have one. The aesthetics of the Gen2 model really clicked with me, but I just admired my friend's watch from afar. Then, recently, this inspiring thread nudged me to act. I missed out on this one a few weeks ago, due to my own sheer inattention. But I ended up being able to purchase that same watch from its buyer. Now, I'm really glad to own this very nice example (serial number 5.9 million), and I'm looking forward to enjoying it!So -- what do I like about the
Can someone help with the numbers?
How many pieces do Patek Philippe make in a typical year? I've seen numbers ranging from 30,000 to 54,000. Also, is it known how many of those are base (stainless steel) sport models? Does anyone know how many 5167s they would typically produce? And 5711s?Please refer me to a prior thread if I've missed this. ThanksGregSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rolex gifts
I buy my Rolex watches from an AD that I have known for decades, and who gives me great discounts. However, they never seem to have promotional gifts of any kind. Thus, I've come to think that Rolex promotional items are bought by ADs optionally, so some dealers may have them and others don't.Does anyone know exactly what's the deal with promo gifts...?
Attention Rolex...
By the way, my very best wishes to all, and may 2018 be your best year ever.I just returned from a week fishing at Tropic Star Lodge, Panama. Throughout the trip I wore a Yachtmaster. I kept being told to be careful with the clasp of my watch getting caught with the reel when reeling in. I've been fishing all my life, most of that time wearing a Rolex watch and I must admit that I've never had the clasp of my watch hitting a reel. However, when looking at it, the protruding end of the clasp could very easily get caught with the reel. Moreover, I have always disliked the way the clasp fits high over the bracelet on the Oyster bracelet. Which is a reason I like very much the way the Jubilee clasp on the new 36mm Datejust fits flush with the bracelet; the same as on the President bracelet. It would be great if Rolex would take a further step in improving their bracelets by making the clasp fit more seamlessly with the links on the bracelet. As is the case with some IWC and Omega br
