Hands-On: The Omega Seamaster 300 SPECTRE Limited Edition
It’s tough to shake the grip that Rolex has in the minds of watch enthusiasts and film buffs alike as the James Bond watch – first of all, it’s the watch that Ian Fleming wrote into the books; Fleming himself wore a Rolex, and the prototypical and original cinematic James Bond – Sean Connery – wore a Submariner in Dr. No. Connery will always be the original Bond, and the Sub will always be the original movie Bond watch, but that doesn’t mean – as subsequent years have shown – that there aren’t worthy successors to both, and Daniel Craig’s take on Bond as a barely restrained borderline sociopath on a collision course with himself has gone a long way towards rehabilitating what had become something of an exercise in camp. 1 OF 8 For many years now, the horological partner to the cinematic Bond has been Omega, and the watch has been the Seamaster, which is a plausible watch for the character: utilitarian and with a
Very interesting auction for a RG RB
I think it's pretty cool, the seller states the rubber was shaved off the RC bezel to show the solid gold under it. I can see he's telling the truth because the WG screws on the bezel are slightly higher than the bezel since they removed the thin layer of rubber.I never knew if you took the rubber off the bezel it would actually look that nice. go figure. don't like the brown diver strap tho..ebay/itm/NEW-AUDEMARS...item2578aa5e62
Limited Edition - Royal Oak Offshores - "Too Much of a Good Thing?"
Hello All,I just wanted some general opinions on the wash of Royal Oak Offshores that are Limited Editions. It seems like AP puts out alot of Limited Edition Royal Oak Offshore watches and I'm not sure how I feel about that.On one side, I like that the limited runs of 'unique' watches is a constant in their product portfolio - thus offering those customers the opportunity to own very singular pieces, but on the other side, I just feel like it's such a marketing ploy to drive up retail prices of watches with 'new materials' etc...What do you all think/feel? Is the constant offerings of Limited Edition Royal Oak Offshores Too Much of a Good Thing? Thanks,
Speedmaster 3623.30.00
I have a?Speedmaster Triple Calendar ?3523.30.00 with 1151 movement. My question is about the 24 hr. hand. Can it be uncoupled from the running time hour hand? In other words have it work like a 2nd TZ like a GMT would. I don't have the official manual and did some reading of scanned manuals for the reference and the 1151 caliber but no mention. Thanks for info - and if age matters - the watch was originally sold in 2000 with the newer 24 hr. arrow hand. Here's a pic of the dial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Is it me, or does it look like there's a Tudor Pepsi AND Coke?
