Alpina and Cessna Hold Collaboration Event
To celebrate their collaboration, Alpina and Cessna recently held an event at Cessna Aircraft's headquarters in Wichita, Kansas. Selected VIP customers attended a presentation and viewed over 30 airplanes in different stages of production. Following the presentation, several Cessna planes were inspected in the main showroom, including a brand new Cessna Citation Mustang. Alpina joined forces with Cessna Aircraft and PrivatAir to support the introduction of Alpina’s Startimer Pilot collection. Sotheby's October 6 Hong Kong's sale of Important Watches totaled US$7.14 million, establishing Sotheby's highest-ever total for a various owners sale of important watches. The auction was 79.9% sold by lot and 85.8% by value. Leading the sale was a Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30o Vision No. 2 with mother-of-pearl dial, circa 2004, which sold for US$325,641 against a pre-sale estimate of $200,000 to $300,000. Asian and European collectors competed enthusiastically for exceptional examples. Hello...now help me decide.
First let me say hello. I've been a lurker for quite a while now and enjoy browsing on this forum. Let me first start by saying that I am an Omega FREAK!! I've always loved the Planet Ocean series. From the calibre 2500 to the current 8500. They are just awesome. I have finally reached the point in my life where I'm ready to take the plunge and get my first real timepiece. After lots of researching and countless trips to the A.D. I have narrowed my selection down to just a couple. I believe that the watch I will be buying is either the Omega Chronograph 9300 or the Omega 8605 GMT. Both watches are unique in their own way and I'm not going to go into the differences because you all know what there are. My question to members on this board is which one would you choose? I look forward to the discussion that ensues and everyone's answers. I know that either watch I choose will be a great watch, just don't want to have any regrets. Thanks Dave

Sub Date 2012 serviced or 2014 mint?
Hello.I'm very new here so I apologise in advance for any daft questions I might ask. With that said here's my first:I'm looking to buy a Submariner Date with the intention of it being the watch that'll be with me forever.My only wish is that it comes with the glide lock bracelet (everything I've read seems to suggest they're really very nice), so which year doesn't bother me so much as the condition.I'm looking at a few and have seen one that's from 2012 but was serviced by Rolex December last year (comes with official service receipt so is guaranteed until dec 2019 I believe),The other/s are 2014/15 and appear to all be in ��mint' condition.What I would like your advice on is whether you'd go for the recently officially serviced or the newer watch?Also, are the guarantees transferable or only applicable for the person named on the guarantee?Many thanks in advance for any advice, it'd be truly welcomed.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
