Cyrus Klepcys Watch
Newer brand, new watch. Cyrus debuted late last year but I never got a chance to really check them out as their timepieces reminded me of wrist-mounted doomsday devices. Their flagship watch is Klepcys (still trying to properly pronounce that one) and it is a formidable piece of unique horology. The master behind the mechanism is Jean-Francois Mojon. One of today's better watch makers who is known for (among other things), the Harry Winston Opus X.In addition to the standard Klepcys watch, Cyrus will be donating a special one to the Only Watch 2011 auction. Images of both are seen here, whereas the piece unique model for the action is in white gold with a red "11." The high-end piece is another attempt on "doing it differently." While I respect the mechanism and concept for some reason the design leaves me a inert. I feel as though I need more time with the watch to appreciate it fully. It does however move me much more than the brand's other watch called the Kuros. We will see what ha
Now Writing For aBlogtoRead.com and Luxist.com
I have officially expanded my watch writing horizons. You'll now find me writing both aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer and on Luxistwatches-dealer (a luxury items and lifestyle blog that is part of the Weblogs network). My position there is as the watch expert, and you'll find articles there on real estate, cars, art, fine living, and anything else part of a luxurious lifestyle. Part of this new opportunity is a dream come true as I've always admired the blogs that are part of the Weblogs network. Aside from Luxistwatches-dealer, my favorites are Engadgetwatches-dealer, Joystiqwatches-dealer, and Autoblogwatches-dealer. You should check them all out. While I am fortunate to be a writer on Luxistwatches-dealer, all this blogging takes a significant amount of time, and it isn't my day job. Writing about watches all the time, has me thinking about watches all the time. So allow this image of stacked watches to serve as a metaphor of my resultant mental priorities; (almost) all watches, all the ti
Thoughts on the size of the Jumbo on my small wrists?
What do you guys think?I do intend to get it in stainless steel, however this was the only one available, and it is the same size.I initially was interested in the 15450 37mm, since I have pretty small wrists at around 6.25 wrists, maybe slightly smaller, but I just felt the 37mm was on the smaller side; I also love the blue dial so that was one more thing I couldn't get on the 15450.I personally think it pretty much wears like my 40mm Rolex GMT, which I am very comfortable with; I am just not sure if the Jumbo will sit well on my wrists when I remove the links.I am told that I can remove a max of 6 links. Should that be enough for my scrawny wrists?I appreciate your opinions, and any input. Thank you guys.
Breitling Navitimer 1461 (52 week perpetual calendar)
Hi all experts. Recently came across a possible acquisition. Could someone tell me a little more about these watches? Looks to be limited editions. Are these watches more desirable then the regular navitimers? Anything that I need to watch out for? Due to its complication, I am going to assume that it require more money to service. How durable are the movement of Breitlings? Thanks for any advices ahead of time. I am a total newbie to Breitling.
How much were 3572.50s new?
Just curious. Looking for a used one and trying to figure out a reasonable price to pay. Are they collectors items already? Thanks all. I hope to join the ranks of speedy pro owner soon.
