Harry Winston “Countdown to a Cure” Watches Benefit AIDS Research
In honor of its second year of partnership with amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, jeweler/watchmaker Harry Winston has announced the launch of the Countdown to a Cure Timepiece. Designed exclusively for amfAR's Countdown to a Cure campaign, this limited-edition watch (20 each of the men's and ladies’ models), is the first official product to benefit amfAR's efforts to develop the scientific basis of a cure for HIV by 2020.Both watches are part of Harry Winston's Midnight Collection. The men's version (priced at $21,200) features a 42-mm-diameter white gold case and a navy blue dial; the dial is accented with a multicolor gradient that represent amfAR's Countdown to a Cure campaign colors, symbolizing the fade of the disease from crisis to cure. The ladies’ model, at 32 mm in diameter and priced at $16,200, is set with 12 brilliant-cut diamonds and 19 gemstones, including rubies, sapphires, and spessartite garnets.Countdown to a Cure Men’s TimepieceBoth the me

YES- I will eat my words!
After selling off my entire Panerai collection (few zeros, fivers, 111, 212, 233, 118, 116, 190, 55, 183, 390, 380, 360 & 25) hovering over 5+ years, I said I was DONE with the brand. After so many remix of all the various past DNA elements into newer models really made me look away. I said I would NEVER buy another Panerai.Well... Panerai made me eat my words. I couldn't help the itch. You know the dilio... I just had to scratch it. Yes, I bought another one back so good bye... and hello again PANERAI! It just looks too good with jeans and a t-shirt and so the hell with it, I am back with it!
SS Watches Scarcity Just An Illusion
I have been gauging the market and it seems there are a lot of flippers that bought these watches to make money and are now having trouble selling them even at retail. Batmans going for maybe 500 over retail finding no buyers. D Blues for under retail in the same boat. The true market is the wearer market, and it seems to be well supplied. No one is desperate enough to pay over retail. Soon I expect to see these watches on display at ADs.I am sorry if this is not what some want to hear, I am just stating my true thoughts as I see them.
