Watches NEWS
Thrilled to find a brother.
Hi guys. I was thrilled to find a Chronostop like the one I own at Somlo in Burlington Arcade today. First time I see one in 10 years since I got mine at a small vintage shop. Just wanted to share the excitment with my friends here.
Deployant and Strap Size Speedy 9300
Newbie here. Did an extensive search, but could not find the answer to this question - is there a specific deployant size that goes with the Speedy 9300 44.25 mm? The lug distance is 21 mm. Do you choose the strap first and a corresponding clasp to fit it?
planet ocean 8500 42mm review
i would just like to give some feedback on my new omega planet ocean 8500 42mm orange numbers(sorry the reference is too long and i havent memorized it yet)its really a beautiful watch. ceramic bezel is beautiful. i love the traditional rachet mechanism. the 42mm case is just right (makes the dial bigger) but overall doesnt seem big (since with bezel). the lugs are tapering down and slim. just some touches of polish (still a diver/tool). the raised numerals, markers, hands shine with just a small amount of light. the dial is matte black i thought that would be a turn off but actually the dial has many faces. most of the time it's deep black.the case is thick.(thick watches constantly remind me its there so i tend to be careful and not bump it around) it's heavy too (im guessing 180-200grams) even heavier than my pam. i would like to wear this watch everyday (but i would just have to get used to the weight). its a little top heavy so better wear it snug.the links are brushed, thick and
Looking for first Panerai
Longtime Panerai admirer here. Have a handful of Rolex that I wear in rotation, but have been wanting to add a Panerai into the mix. Have some newbie questions:Is there a quintessential PAM that one should consider? In Rolex speak AKA Submariner, if you catch my drift. In my limited exposure to the models, I do seem to like the PAM 104. It has the date and seconds function which I find useful. Retail is $7k, I see pre-owned go for the $4k range. How much should one expect to get one from an AD for? Is there a standard discount people are receiving on a new one?Anything to consider on new vs. pre-owned models (updated movements/features/etc.)?Thanks guys!
