Lucien Piccard Files Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in Florida
Lucien Piccard Inc. and affiliated companies LP Watch Group and Charles Winston Luxury Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Florida on July 14. Documents filed with the court show that together, the three companies have about $25 million in liabilities and $22.5 million in assets. Chapter 11 gives companies facing creditor pressure time to reorganize their business. Lucien Piccard was founded in Switzerland in 1923. In recent years, the Hollywood, Florida-based LP Watch Group launched new brands LP Italy, LP Swiss, and DuFonte by Lucien Piccard. The LP Italy “Stratosphere” watch (shown below) won the JCK 2005 award for most innovative new design. Reports indicate that the brand spent heavily on advertising and marketing during 2007-2009. In 2007, LP Watch Group became a sponsor of the American Le Mans auto racing series. The Group also sponsored the Executive Women’s Golf Association.
Rebellion T-1000 Gotham Watch
In debuting the Gotham versions of the T-1000 watches, Rebellion playfully warns to "lock up your daughters." I am not 100% sure what that means, but apparently this watch that looks like a part that fell off of a Transformer is out to get your girls. Mixing a range of science-fiction and comic book themes into one, the Rebellion T-1000 is a combo of un-focused culture masculinity, and the world's longest power reserve mechanical movement. When the T-1000 came out a few years ago it boasted the world's longest power reserve at 1000 hours. You can see?how far they have come with the design of the watch since the original. That is over 40 days of power, and beats the A. Lange & Sohne Lange 31 and the Jacob & Co. Quenttin. The T-1000 (no, sadly not the Terminator fiend) has six mainsprings for the job. They are wound in parallel using a chain system and are specially inclined to maximize precision. Nevertheless, this watch likely has one hell of a torque curve (meaning that the acc
My first AP and tour of the AP Service Center
First off I would like to thank all of you enabler's here at TRF. I really love my Rolexes but reading the posts about APs fine timepieces really got me interested. That combined with great trusted seller's here I found one at a price I could not resist. 23% off retail with full factory warranty. So I bought the piece from addy616 a trusted seller here. As I posted in the Who's Who forum it was an absolutely outstanding buying experience. I needed to get it sized so he suggested since I live in Tampa to swing by the Clearwater service center. It's the only one in the northern hemisphere and they take in all new watches from Switzerland to inspect before they go to the AD's to be sold retail as well as do routine service and repairs for all the APs in North and South America. So I called them and set an appointment and the rest is just amazing. From the moment I arrived they treated me like royalty. Coffee, water and a personal inspection of my new AP. They sized it for me pres
Omega Speedmaster 300 'Spectre' Limited Edition Discount
I'm not an Omega fan. However, my best mate back home asked me to ask my Rolex AD here in Singapore, who is also an Omega AD, if he'd be getting the James Bond limited edition piece in.Yep, he's getting one and he's offered me 15% discount without me even asking. Ok, I've sent a lot of business his way but that seems a big discount for a piece that's limited to 7007 and pieces.I'm wondering if I should get one myself at that price.Discuss.
5230G-001- any thoughts?
Not sure if anyone has this or any comments about this model? many thanks!
