Christie's Tests Online-Only Watch Auctions
Major auctioneer Christie's is currently running their first ever "online-only auction," "The Essential Watch Collection" These days, we're all accustomed to researching watches online, and then, very likely also buying them online. Major auctioneers have for a long time been trying to get a piece of the "eBay pie," and the plan is to approach the sale of vintage watches online by offering a curated, safe environment where watches are vetted by professionals and available through a trusted source.Christie's isn't outright saying it, but "The Essential Watch Collection," populated with 22 watch lots is a test. For the most part, Christie's wants to determine whether there is a market to sell desirable vintage watches from popular brands such as Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe and more, online. If so, this would create a lucrative corollary business to their live auction events. This particular auction is running from October 1 - 8, 2013.Of course, the Christie's name is world-renowned, hav

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore G series vs H series
Hey everyone new to the forum just wanted to know if anyone has a info or a link to somewhere that lists out the differences between serials on the Royal Oak specifically Rubberclad between G series and H seriesI see the Chrono second hand is White (G) vs Silver (H)Same for the AP logo white v silverThe date window the G has white with black writing and H has black with white writing And the numbers seem to be more bright white on H vs G they are little tinted yellow in which you can tell they will Glow in the dark Are there more differences? is this something that's just between G and H or they just happen to be different serials but do not define the change. Thanks
Omega CK2998 Opinions
What're your thoughts on the Omega CK2998 Limited Edition?
3570.50 or 3574.51
So I am about to purchase my first speedy pro and I have the opportunity to buy a new 3574.51 or a slightly used 3570.50. Which one would you guys get?I know that they are essentially the same minus the caseback, but I still can't decide. I kind of like the original plus that one is at a jeweler that will take a decent trade price on my 2538.20 great white. If I go with the 3574.50 then I need to wait and sell my great white for a decent price. Also is there a way to check when the watch was made with the serial number?thanks for any advice
