Breguet Marine Royal Ref. 5847 Alarm Watch
In 2004 Breguet launched a new interpretation of the Marine line, and for 2009 they introduce the Marine Royal Ref. 5847 with 300 meter water resistance and an alarm designed to operate under water. The case is an imposing 45mm and is available in 18k pink or white gold. Twin barrels provide the power – one for timekeeping and one for the alarm. Both barrels are wound by a single crown. The Marine Royal naturally possesses the usual diver's-watch features, including a unidirectional bezel inscribed with a graduated 20-minute sector. The bezel's rotation is secured by a blocking pawl, visible and located between the two winding crowns on the case flank. The crowns screw down, and the alarm setting crown and on-off pushpiece, in gold, are sheathed in rubber for easier handling. To improve legibility, the minute markers and minute hand along with the hour hand are coated with white luminous superluminova, while the hour and alarm markers glow blue. Represented by a blue triangular p
Hoping to learn more about this watch ...
I'm hoping someone on this forum can help me learn something more about this watch, beyond its being a Deville, presumably bought at Turler in Switzerland (?). And, possibly, any recommendations on where to get it restored?20150627_072822.jpg20150626_110020.jpgA little background ... my father bought this for my mother when he first visited Switzerland in 1968 - '69. Based on what my parents have told me, those were financially difficult times for them, with having to support an extended family. Coming as it did about five years after they were married, this would have been the first nice gift my father would have been able to get her. Growing up, I remember my mother wearing it proudly. At some point in the last 12 years or so, deteriorating health prevented her from wearing this (or any watch), until her passing 5 years ago. Over the years, the watch has been serviced and maintained, not always by Omega authorized service centers, until upkeep of the watch could no longer be hi
2010 Basel predictions - Omega
Any thoughts?Whereas Rolex has kept us guessing about modifications to existing Models, Omega seems to give us something completely new each time (eg the Hour Vision)However the new Liquid Metal PO has my mouth watering...So what do you think it will be?Will the SMP get the liquid metal treatment?I would looove to see that in the classic blue...Maybe a more complicated hour vision? or further expansion of the Planet Ocean line?
Patek 5170G black dial or FP Journe Centigraphe in Platinum.
Patek 5170G black dial or FP Journe Centigraphe in Platinum. Trying to decide between the two. I already have a Nautilus 5712/1A and a 5396R-001, and am looking to add a chronograph.
explorer 2 16570 polar
Hello,I've been looking for a rolex to add to my 16610LV; been gravitating around several models: 5513 non-matte dial, 16800, 16700, 16750, but I found myself always drawn back to the explorer 16570. Been attracted to the cream markers on the white dial. I found a U series (circa 1998), titrium wording on the dial, full set; very good condition. The only doubt I have is that the lume is still active - not super luminova like but rather luminova. I have to make up my mind by this week-end or release it...my question to the forum:- is it possible to have a titrium marked dial with luminova indicies?- is it possible for the titrium lume be glowing still?- what are the chances that the lume starts turning yellow?- should I just be looking for an older model altogether with already yellow markers ? ( although the prices in Japan are really hiking upwards on these babies)...- should I go the opposite drection and aim for one with the 3186 movement? The price is definitely high compared to las
